I love all of Pierre's videos but I really love these live repair videos. It shows you how you can attack the problem and save money by doing it yourself. Super valuable information in my opinion. Thanks, Pierre.

Thanks for the vid. Love my 1991 350SDL. Owned it since 11/2004. I don't think I will ever get rid of it. The W126 cars really are an amazing piece of engineering.

Even though I parted with my W201, 190E some time ago, I'm certain now the ill was the debris lodged in the channels and drains that was giving me that cold second shower of the day. Thanks for the en promtu fix. I know that should I buy another baby Benz that I won't have the same rude awakening again. Stay safe.

Great video. I have a 2013 C300 and noticed water on my floor on the passenger side and believe it's a sunroof clog. After i test this where can i find a tube like tire using to clear the clog? Also, I did see ppl use a weed wacker line Thank you

Once again great video! One question, while you're doing that, should you lubricate the seals of the roof and if so what's good to use?
@klwthe3rd6 жыл бұрын
I do know you're supposed to lubricate the track with the special Mercedes Benz grease so it will open and close easily. As far as the seals, I'm not sure.
@LilyoftheValeyrising6 жыл бұрын
Marino Colonna yes the special Mercedes sunroof grease. I just performed that very task on mine. There are some sources online that offer a smaller container so you don’t have to buy the whole $85 quart from MB.

I worked on my sunroof (‘75 450SEL) lately and used a kit from a guy in a lab coat.... hmmm. The directions didn’t contain this little tidbit of information on the drain cleaning. Wow!

thank you.Did you get those drains cleaned? On to the timing chain on the 450sel yet?
@LilyoftheValeyrising6 жыл бұрын
Mercedes Classic with Pierre Hedary you’re quite welcome Mr. Polk !
@LilyoftheValeyrising6 жыл бұрын
Mercedes Classic with Pierre Hedary yes! The drains are cleaned. They drain very well. I didn’t know to go all the way down. As for the timing chain I’m ordering all the parts because most likely it will need to be done because of age. The plastic guides being 42 years old isn’t worth risking failure for a $6 part. I figure I shouldn’t take off the valve cover without a new gasket on hand.

yes...the 108 drain tubes run through the trunk though. all mercedes have a drain tube in each corner of the sunroof tray.
