I have to admit, I do like the NBC roll that the Army uses to the one we use. I was required to roll my sleeves that way while I was stationed with SOCOM and not only does it not make the roll stand out (especially notable with woodlands) but also makes sense for when you need to unroll them quickly. Always hopes the Marines would adopt that version but I suppose not.
@Travis1Bickle10 жыл бұрын
Believe it or not--Back in 1982/83, Marines in Okinawa were required to do the NBC roll like the Army. I believe it was CG III MEF that directed the change. I was with 9th Engineers at Camp Hansen at the time and woodlands were just becoming available. It was weird at first, but actually it makes more sense and in the end we just got used to it. But it was nice to get back to CONUS and roll 'em tight.

You ever pull your cammies from the bottom of your c-bag after going.... anywhere? Sure, they were clean and fresh when you packed them, but now they're just a wrinkled mess, and you've got formation in 10 mins. An iron never hurts.
@AZ762SHOOTER11 жыл бұрын
i sure have. we did that survey to pick the new cammies in 99 or 2000 that was one of the things everyone wanted. so when they came out there was a maradmin saying ironing was unauthorized and something to the affect of it would ruin the material or cause it to breakdown faster. if i remember correctly. and it worked IF you didnt put starch on them. also, i never seen an iron on the boat so most of us just spread them out under our little matress. but those were the old woodlands that had lots of starch...
