Sunbeam Alpine: Owners helping each other

Sunbeam Alpine owners have long had a reputation for helping each other whenever there are problems. Distress Line formalised this process. If you have an Alpine (or any classic car) you would be well advised to join the Sunbeam Alpine Owner's Club (SAOC) and register for Distress Line if you have not already done so. This video features a couple of examples of Alpine Owners helping each other. On one occasion replacing a broken valve spring at the roadside WITHOUT REMOVING THE CYLINDER HEAD and on another repairing and replacing a broken differential in a field with nothing but hand tools. Lastly helping an International visitor to get his clutch repaired. Congratulations to all concerned. @TheSunbeamAlpineChannel

Tim, a little off subject, and not specific to Alpines, but in a number of your videos, I have noticed you are very big on labelling everything. Your solar charging installation, your wiring installation, and all your small parts drawers etc, are all neatly labelled. I wonder if you could make a video, of your ideas of labelling, the different labels and labeller you use yourself, and how well they stick, or how you stick them. I like the way you work, and the way you try to always do quality work/ repairwork.

I’ll have a think about how I could do that. I label wires on the cars because if you ever have a problem it is likely to be on a cold, wet night when following a wiring diagram will be most difficult. In the garage it just makes things easier to find. I use a Brother label maker.

Treat yourself to another one! My own Alpine has an enlarged 1725cc engine, twin choke Weber on a curved inlet manifold and a 3.7 differential. It goes very, very well. @@roystonvehicles9129
