Great comparison. I have the F1 Pro Maple and a game changer for battery life is shutting off data until you need maps or weather. voice to text wont work with this off, so if you need that, this tip wont work. But MMS and SMS work just fine with data shut off. I'm on day 2 and still at 67% after making calls and texts.

@Josebriones Thank you for all of your comparison info between these two phones! I have the F1 Aspen but the form factor is very bulky and heavy and would like more music options. Leaning towards changing to the LP2. You had a video from 3yrs ago showing adding Spotify through an Android loader to LP2, is it still able to sync download Spotify playlist vs just mp3 song files and podcasts?

Dual languages would be useful for me, but it'd have to work in Europe. Do you know of any other simple phones that have that feature? Also, are you going to review the Punkt. MC02? I'm very interested in that phone for its privacy features but can't find any reviews. It was supposed to launch in January 24 but I can't find much on it. Thanks!

CAT S22 would have that feature. Not super simple, but definitely has the feature. I won’t review the MC02. It’s not in my interest because they are selling an open product (GrapheneOS) and charging a subscription.

LP2 will continue to be supported. It is in their long term plan. LP3 will probably come out in 2025. Major updates coming this year for the LP2 :)

Do you know how long it took for sunbeam wireless to release cases for the F1 Pro after its release? I just noticed that they now have the F1 horizon for pre-order but wanted to wait until the case comes out for the device.

I've encountered a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious syllable limiting factor on my new F1 Pro. A hard shell cover can be purchased for the new model size FI Pro. On some calls the reception quality is much better than the early Orchid models by far in my limited experience. I do wish that you elaborate more on the potential use of a Bluetooth keyboard as a new feature.

It’s not as far as we know. It comes unlocked, but I am sure the bands would be limited in other countries.

The only thing I don’t like about sunbeam is painted shell (you already have scuffs). But also that its some kind of generic chinese old people phone. It even have this orange sos button on the back. Given the price its not great

light phone 2 is too glitchy. Mine actually might be giving out at not quite a year. Factory reset today, hoping that helps. I like it but would like it to be less glitchy.

for me, I just can't budge on needing good navigation. if the light phone 2 had that, I think I would switch. I just am not sure what I would say in a situation where a coworker asks me to meet them for lunch somewhere, or I have a last minute appointment or meeting, how could I find my way reliably? What if I need to call a place quickly and I don't know the phone number? I think it would result in a lot of embarrassing situations to not have that information available at all times when everybody else does.

I guess it’s a fair point. The LP2 can find all these routes and give you a list of directions. It just won’t give you live directions all the time per my testing.

I think that's a totally fair remark and definitely an important aspect of everything we interact with. I care more for something that I regard as beautiful therefore it is an important factor for it to become a long lasting investment. :)

You know, I'm from the UK and always envied the US because of the sunbeam. I found a similar phone called the ttfone tt970. It's not as customisable as the sunbeam but definitely very similar build wise. I got to say, it's a very ugly phone. If you noticed in this video, the sunbeam can't sit straight because the top screen part is as heavy as the bottom. When you flip out the phone, the weight distribution of the phone feels odd and out of place. It feels like it's going to fly out my hand. I've gone back to my nokia 2720. It's reliable, feels right, abit slow but gets the job done.
