Shed a wee tear (sobbing) for Mimi , she was the goodest dog and il miss seeing her body wags and how she always had a stuffed toy in her mouth. Im sorry she passed however its evident she had the best life and was loved dearly. Sending lots of love.

People underestimate how hard it is losing a family pet. I still think about my old family dog everyday and cherish those memories with her. You can tell Mimi loved life with you all - I loved seeing her wagging tail in vlogs! sending you lots of love xx

I agree with buying colors you like vs buying “traditional” gendered colors. I went with mostly grey, white and tans.

For me colours are more for others to make it easy for them to distinguish the baby's gender, so they won't fall in the embarrassment of using the wrong pronoun when referring to them - he vs. she. I've certainly had parents give me unhappy looks when I've referred to their baby by the wrong gender, so some intuitive clothing colour would have helped!

I'm so sorry for Mimi :( lost my cat last year and she was also 11, it's very sad and painful losing a loved pet. At least she's in a good place and isn't suffering anymore. On the other side, very happy to see your pregnancy and seeing you so happy and, of couse, always looking beautiful and giving us that relaxing vibe/content. Oh Jess, I’m so sorry for your family’s loss. I always loved seeing Mimi in the vlogs-she was such a lovely, sweet girl. As for your hospital bag, no judgies here! I’m pregnant with my 4th baby and wished I hadn’t played it so cool previously, bringing as little as possible. I plan on being more prepared this time! One recommendation I didn’t see you mention is the Frida Mom perineal bottle. It works better upside down than the disposable ones they give you in the hospital. It came in handy last postpartum!

I've never given birth but I have had a couple of surgeries and I think over packing is really important. It doesn't matter how much of the stuff you'll use. It's more about knowing that you have it on hand if you need it. I think you need that assurance especially when you're in an unfamiliar surrounding going through an unfamiliar experience.

The positive birth pack was the best thing I have ever bought, after a very traumatic birth with my daughter I was adamant if I had a baby again that I would be properly informed and change my view on birth, how my body works etc. I had my son in December and couldn't of asked for a better birth :) I was very lucky and got everything I wanted this time and felt amazing after. Sorry about your loss Jess. Over a year ago we had to put down our family dog too, she also had cancer. It’s a very heartbreaking & emotional thing to go through. I definitely feel like their spirit is with us & we’ll one day see them again. It’s important to remember that they were loved & well taken care of. ❤️

Never too early to pack hospital bag: my both girls were born 5 weeks earlier. Had to stay each time little longer as both my daughters had to stay on NICu. I gave birth in September and in most hospitals is allowed to bring things later. My partner brought/exchanged something almost everyday. My second birth was amazing. Mostly I think as I was mentally prepared for it. Wish you all the best Jess!
