i have trouble figuring out if i should use blue scroll or red scroll with Dereliction. i'm a hammer main, but i have endgame hammers with each element. should i go for raw attack power or go for elemental attack power when the monster is weak to a specific element?

A set that sacrifices a little of damage for more safety is using malzeno waist with shagaru helm and the rest final boss armor. You get the blood rite skill which will heal you when attacking broken parts. You lose one level of chain crit and maybe one level of resentment, but the first level of chain crit is the most important anyway. Though blood rite does not work well for monsters that don't have a breakable part for elemental weakspot, like blue crab head or magna back leg.

here's the thing. you have to break the part - and if you will replace the waist on the budget sets you lose all chain crit. And if ever you do break a part - that's just level 2 blood rite - maybe for melee it'll be good? but i dunno for elemental piercing. You're paying way too much just to get the healing you want that it defeats the purpose of comfort. You're better off just eating super dango recovery 4 and a gourmet fish.

@@AngBata11 I have played around with it, it works pretty good for some monsters like almudrons since the front claws break pretty quickly from elemental damage. I was a little unclear with explaining my set, it's final boss chest and gloves and leggings so you do get chain crit 1 and dereliction 3. Afaik chain crit 1 is the most impactful for elemental bowgun, 2 and 3 don't add much. So my set is alot like your budget set but I have blood rite in exhange for dropping chain crit 2 to 1. Though I use a charm with spare shot 2 and 3x lvl 1 slots, so maybe a more budget charm will have to sacrifice more. Any way, nice video and happy gunning!

it’s already there. The minimum gun skills you need to make the gun work. the core skills for elemental which are ammo up 2 / dereliction / bloodlust / coal 1 / spareshot 3 then just play around with attack boost / mail of hellfire / resentment.

Far as i'm aware, the issue is that it takes too long to scale up to firing faster than normally firing, and by the time it does you're almost out of overheat gauge, effectively lowering your dps, it was overnerfed from GU sadly

I crafted the narwa lbg for pierce thunder and it's garbo but for example if you go on furious rajang with the ice lbg it actually deals more dmg than spread on him and it's safer. I must try other elements but I would not use pierce lightning with a lbg that's certain, for monsters that are not pierce friendly and lightning weak the khezu lbg is extremly good. It's a weapon by weapon choice, hbg will almost always be the best dps but lbg are imho way better for unscripted stuff overall in general unless you want to go ham on pierce lighting atm.

Yeah, you want to go with regular elemental shots with LBG. The damage loss from rapid fire, even with Rapid Fire Up 3, makes the pierce shots do less damage overall, I think.

Is there any viability with rapid fire spread 2 lbgs? It seems like an interesting ammo type that I would like to try out. Espinas and Goss Harag LBG seem pretty good for this. Espinas has 330 attack with 10% affinity with a level 2 rampage slot, while Goss Harag has 360 attack with -15% affinity, a level 2 slot, and a level 2 rampage slot. Both have a clip size of 5. If you see this Ang, please look into this if you have time, thanks!

espinas is your go to. Would cover it in the future but this gun can handle critical fire power with a long barrel. try it out

Why not use rampage Elembane deco instead of Kushala? Elemental reload got fixed(?) and I assume the deco Elembane works now as intended.

please dont laugh at my question but is there any numbers difference from play on switch or are they the same on both platforms. since one is 30 fps and the other is 60+. been looking everywhere online to see any really difference between games besides graphics and cant find much. hahaha again i know it might be a stupid question but i would love to hear your opinion on it.

fps is really a thing. I cant really give the actual difference but there is. Fps affects tics of pierces and even fire rate iirc

Deviation, mostly. Unless you can afford to put Steadiness 2 or 3 on your build, it's not worth it.

I was an HBG diehard in World but it always feels hard to build until you get close to endgame and can put a proper set together. I'm glad I already made an Attack Boost 3, Chain Crit 2, 4-1-1 talisman for switch axe since I can just run it again on HBG!

"Made" is the correct word of choice here because that talisman is hacked. You can't get a 4-11 with AB 3 and CC 2 naturally.

@@AngBata11 @M Rickman I was working off of a spreadsheet that showed 4-1-1 as legal, and I guess it passes the sanity check, but now that I'm looking at comments it seems you guys are right that 3-1-1 is the max you can currently get in the game. I'm guessing that 4-1-1 is something that's in the data because another level of melding will be added eventually. Dropping down to a legal 3-1-1 won't actually effect any of builds anyway so I'm glad to get more info on what's legal.

This answer comes ridiculously late but I'm answering either way, there are two reasons if I'm not mistaken 1 elembane is percentage based elemental buff witch doesn't work well with hbg because the actual elemental numbers of hbg are quite small. 2 and mont importantly due to the nature of piercing part of your attack isn't going to pass through a weak spot of the monster so better have the 15 affinity witch applies to all hotzones.

Loved the builds, but playing in multi player almost exclusively, I realize one thing.... Ammo is so expensive! Afflicted monster have a big health pool, and it gets even larger when in MP Yesterday I had to run to restock three times when hunting Rakna. It was almost 60 snow herbs I spent there.... (Each 20 herbs you make 60 ammo. So you can carry 120 bullets before you need to run and restock. I bought most of my ammo, but still had to make them on the fight. So 180 shoots that I bought, plus 180 I had to make during the fight.) Any tips to, I don't know. Farm more herbs? xD

Manually farm them on expeditions/ hunts with extra gather skills if argosy isn't enough

Honestly it shouldn't take long . It's legit just plants to craft the ammo. Just spend one afternoon with the same plant on all 3 slots with breakneck bargaining. And do not use the introduction scroll. That will muddy your loot pool. In a couple of hunts you should have a solid amount.

Is it worth it making a build on the royal order HBG? It has all elemental piercing, normal pierces 1 2 3, and shrapnels. How would you go about making a build for that? Pierce and spread up?

dont underestimate the comfiness of getting to shoot while moving - it can be viable for a change of playstyle for sure - will be a bit challenging though. I would say Normal 3 combined with an elemental ammo of choice would look nice.

they are all guaranteed bonus attack. unless you’re firing a baggi or a wroggi wherein their whole body can proc WEX go for wex crit element. Wex crit element is viable for the last boss head tho but yeah don’t expect big returns. It’s in the video already. 15 % of 22 is what? versus the 10 element you get from dereliction with one qurio.

element exploit only works on monsters with 25 and above elemental hitzone. try to look at yoru hunters notes it's only a few - you'll get more from the 15% affinity

Use the Argosy. Also, don't limit yourself to one ammo type for a hunt. I always try to bring every ammo type a particular gun can use.

10% additional elemental damage? .... 10% of 22 is... 2.2.... you get 24.2 in the end.... Dereliction 3 gives you a flat 10 on element with one qurio..... 10 is 45% of 22.... So.... yeah... No teo soul for fire. No kushala for ice/water. No thunder for narwa. They are percentage increases which are small compared to derelictions FLAT element.

They are good but Dereliction and Resentment give more power. WE3/CB3 if you want to be safe and don't like HP drains.

Thing about elemental ammo is that a significant chunk of the damage is not raw and will not crit, so investing in crit skills like WE and CB gives you diminishing returns compared to a pierce or spread build. Stacking attack buff though, scales all of your damage and gets you more DPS efficiently.
