Only thing I see is that I def want tune up for my shield bowgun. It makes the shield almost as good as Lance.

I made a pierce 3 hbg using shagaru head and feet, and sinister chest, arms, and waist. Basically a glass cannon build but the damage you can dish out is insane. Works very well in multiplayer where you can shoot from distance while the rest draws aggro.

I've been trying to get good with HBG after maining LBG through Sunbreak. Luckily, I used to play a ton of Greatsword in Iceborne so I have some good shoulder tackling experience hahaha. I'll try these builds, thank yeeee!

hey mate, I've ALWAYS been a LBG player who has never ever attempted HBG. How are you finding it? Now that you've probably used the HBG a bit more, do you find yourself coming back to the LBG? I'm just deciding whether I should have a go or not. I love ele builds, so maybe I could do RF ele HBG and LBG for everything else? @Lord what do you think, good plan? lol sorry for talking out loud

@@tommo9176 honestly, LBG is a lot more comfortable but theres something about standing in the monsters face with big gun that is satisfying and feels cool. I still use LBG though, nothing stopping us from playing both. I'd advise practising HBG on monsters you understand though.

I just gotten a reload speed 3, steadiness 2 with 3-2-1 slot talisman and for the Shagaru Magala shield HBG build, I am able to do 105% affinity on weakspots plus I have chain crit 2, atk boost 1 and also spareshot 1. Guard, guard up, crit boost, weak exploit, pierce up, reload speed, recoil down, steadiness and stun resist all maxed out. One of my proudest build aside from Garangolm spread shield HBG which is similar but with lv 6 crit eye but lv 1 chain crit instead and can do 95% affinity on weakspots.

I really like its Design... i'm trying HBG, but have Problems with it since i only used LBG in Sunbreak and am used to speedy movements. The HBG is like the Greatsword of ranged weapons and it will take me a lot of time to get used to it. But i really like me some powerful pierce builds

I recommend having at least one level of Evade Distance and don't forget about the wirebug counter

Spare shot benefit is not as important as 100% crit when you have a big clip and fast reload. I would give up 3 atk and 2 spare shot for affinity.

first set has 80% and second has 100%, no need to go any higher. spare shot is a pretty good DPS increase over an extra 20% crit.

I tried making a two piece kushala and malzeno waist blood right for health Regen, shield pierce hbg, with peak performance (big pp) But haven't quite finished it yet. Thoughts on a set like that? I just want my safi pierce health Regen hbg from world back again lol.

could be good, the pieces are expensive tho so it's hard to get all skills. maybe with the next update it'll get easier!

charging is always DPS loss, but if you like to do it, going for counter charger switch skill, focus 3, and charge master I think should be the way.

@@LordViettner I think charging the 1st shots of each volley as a dps increase as it lets you target the main hitzone your intending to target anyway rather than than waiting for the perfect uncharged shot

spread by a lot, but it's much more dangerous bc you have to be right in the monster's face and you will have less time to react than at the distance you have to be at for pierce. Also elemental pierce usually beats both by a decent amount

Pierce3 can deal better damage with crouching fire and the red circle than spread3. But positioning in a real fight is a challenge

depends on what ammo, for any piercing ammo run setting sun. counter charger is solid. I do like silkbind glide for mobility as well

rapid up and pierce up doesnt affect pierce elemental ammo, the only skill you can use is rapid fire up
