Feels like maybe Nintendo doesn't care if the designs leak at this point because they see it as "just" a Switch 2, an upgrade to the Switch 1, and not some wildly new console. They are trying to keep the full capabilities of the console under tighter wraps because even with the motherboard leaks, we can only speculate what it can do with base line expectations. like, its gotta be intentional at this point. Itd be crazy if they end up shadow dropping the console 😂

I know it's a reach but it could make sense if the only messages Nintendo cares about fully controlling is the software and the capabilities of the thing. I think there are 2 possible reasons; 1. It is a very iterative console, not much has changed since Switch 1 2. These companies were under NDA until Nintendo revealed the console, but the reveal got pushed back without amending the NDAs.

Gosh it looks like the red optic square sensor thing on the attach edge of the joycon sure seemed to be a mouse option, which would be an absolutely brilliant move for Nintendo brining mouse functionality to a console marrying the functionality of consoles and PCs perfectly and giving unknown plethoras of options for use in clever uses. It looks like it’s just a connection or lock indicator or something here. I really hope it’s a mouse function as this would give Switch 2 a leg up over every other console and PC in so many ways.

Knowing Nintendo: - it's probably like the distance sensor on the Switch, a gimmick, barely used at all. - nobody is gonna use a breadstick, basically, as a mouse for longer time, but to scroll on a website like KZbin to select something, pretty nice - i think it will be something like a scanner function, close to a bar code scanner with some implementation for some gimmick-games

Here's the problem with making the release buttons also function as input buttons; you risk disconnecting the Joy-con from the system during handheld gameplay.

The only thing I thought of for the T button would be "Turbo". Some PC controllers have a Turbo button speeding things up but don't know if that would apply for switch third party controllers and if that functionality is feasible on a switch the way it is for PC when emulating games

C button I'm starting to think is for Capture gameplay imputs including buttons and directional inputs essentially letting you do a similar thing you see on the 8bitdo SN30 Macros for example that can automate gameplay, just a wild guess. I seen a demo of guy going through a Mario level macroing walking forward with jumping which the macro constantly repeats while still letting you do inputs inbetween on a SN30. Hopefully that C on the Nintendo does something more spectacular than what im assuming here.

What I think will happen next: - Nintendo will have a Reveal Trailer video ready to go with a massive Nintendo Direct style announcement - Date is end of Jan and Launch of "Switch 2" "NS2" or whatever they call it will be end of March. In the Nintendo Direct they will slightly over-exaggerate the system's capabilities by showing off a few titles they hand picked from 3rd party developers which look graphically impressive, but actually will not end up being big sellers. - Nintendo will announce an update to one of their top exclusive franchises. My top guess is Mario Kart since it's the top seller. I'd like it to be Animal Crossing or Super Smash, but I think Mario Kart is due for the update. It's also very possible there will be yet another Pokemon announced OR a Mario Odyssey type game since those would show off the updated capabilities of the system best. I'd be most excited for a HD remake of Breath of the Wild and or Tears of the Kingdom since the comparison between current Switch and the new console would be a good way to market why one would want to upgrade. If you recall back to all the Nintendo console launches the best bet is on a franchise title like Mario to sell systems. Either way I know I'm pre-ordering it and will have it day 1 just like I did for the original Switch. I'm excited about this just to have a spec bump and that finally we can have proper ports from 3rd parties as well as even greater experiences with Nintendo's top franchise hits.
