I remember the Doordarshan days when I used to sit with a diary and write down the recipes as Sanjeev Kapoor cooked on show..it was the only source I learned and enjoyed cooking. Moreover the list of ingredients displayed after the show was something I used to cash in on since there was no replay button then . Precious❤

That 'ghar baithi housewives' comment was really unnecessary, it drips of condescension and a very biased view of women who for any multitudes of reasons are homemakers. Please weigh your words before shooting.
@srishtispace
@srishtispace 2 жыл бұрын
If it feels condescending then they should step out in real world, and have some accountability... Life limited in the box is not really a life, it is a prison... It hinders personal growth. Its necessary to not be just a housewife. Women need to earn everything that they eat. That is necessary for self respect, self value and self confidence. Just saying because i have seen so many around me, and i always wish they were a little more independent and brave to do all that
@meenakshinambiar8603
@meenakshinambiar8603 2 жыл бұрын
@@srishtispace Wow! And you have assumed that women who stay at home are doing so because they like it or want to and not out of any other compulsion like taking care of children, elderly etc. And even they want to, why attach a stigma to it? Shouldn't nobody be judged for the choices they make? Instead of looking down upon them from a high horse, we need to respect them for if it weren't for them, the unaccounted sector, life for many would be very difficult, and I salute many women in my life who are homemakers. It is their sacrifice and dedication to our homes that has made many concentrate on life's other aspects. That being said, my comments are not to be confused with unnecessary glorification or pushing the 'housewives' role forward. If a woman wants and can, then we must and should join the work force. I hope I was clear in my differentiation of respecting anybody's choice, man or woman. Housewife or not. These are my two bits on this discussion and will not be extending it.
@srishtispace
@srishtispace 2 жыл бұрын
@@meenakshinambiar8603 yes i totally respect them and your opinion... but that respect that everybody talks about for homemakers, easily reduces to being taken for granted. As necessary it is for men to share household responsibility, equally necessary it is for these women to earn their livelihood and confidence back. Regarding the choice to stay back or work... I still think that should be coming from necessity instead of choice... But that is just my opinion. I don't believe in woke thought process of "you do you" . Lot of educated, totally capable women dont work because of financial stability at home due to their father, father in law, or husband. This is directed towards them. THAT choice bothers me and no its not looking down upon them, just that this stability can turn into something difficult to handle in their later lives... So it bothers me. 😊 Finally, thank you for putting your points across so nicely, had a good discussion

@@meenakshinambiar8603 I think it's the continuation of cave culture when men use to hunt and women use to do managing stuff. But now capitalism and technological prowess the means of livelihood got changed n now gender identity is diminishing slowly , yes it will take time . See modern couples with both partners pursue a career ,in that case they would rather hier a homemaker. So homemaker is now a profession.
