I finished the story in 1 go. Took me 7-8 hours. The lore and dialogue drop in this patch were so heavy, and all the twists and turns made everything so much more complex. It was a great story. Only problem now is that I have to wait 6 weeks for the next part.

They did Aventurine better than Topaz. Topaz coming from a ruinous world got like maybe three sentences worth of actual dialog when they could have given her a lot more seeing how it was the patch that focused almost solely on her debut. Meanwhile, Aventurine's past hits you like a million times in the gut, and it actually makes you sympathize with his all or nothing lifestyle, because depsite all his rise to success, he really knows what to live with nothing and even less really means.

I will say Aventurine didn't became redeemable here, the only people who came to know to his backstory were us as we were playing story from his perspective, it was bound to happen. He still tried to kill the others. He still stays the same in front of other characters. He would have been considered redeemable if he actually changed his way of doing things which definitely didn't happend

@@Jackal43 Makes sense. I was a bit off the mark in my wording, too, so it's my mistake in more than one way. What I meant to say was "unsympathetic." He doesn't regret what he did, and is still using everyone to fulfil his machinations, but there's a level of pity in where he came from and what he had to do to survive. While the prospect of seeing a playable character be an entirely monstrous or greedy individual would still be interesting and refreshing to the usual white/grey/dark grey lineup, it's too risky to chance at for Hoyoverse.

HONESTLY i've never hated any characters and just appreciated the story for what it was but this patch really made it all worth it. The characters all feel so real and there's so much diversity in personality that I can't help being so invested. Like some people may think Aventurine's backstory is cliche or whatever, but I think what matters is how the person turned out after all of that. People can have the same backstory and turn out complete opposites. I also now want to go back to all the Stellaron hunters interactions with SAM (like voicelines and animations) now that I know their real identity HAHAHAHA

For those who dont know. And there will be SPOILERS FOR THE END OF THE QUEST IN THIS!!!!! 2:05:12 Basically this is a triple bluff adventure time got Topaz and Jade to give up their cornerstones, broke his own and made it his one earing this appearently significantly weakens the transformation power AD TIME gets at the end of the quest. Whether or not he knew about the harmony excution before hand i dont know but i wouldnt be surprised if he did. Ad time got ratio to lie to sunday to get info on the stellaron and make him think he had all but killed ad time. Now here is the real gamble, Sunday but a death clock on ad time. And Adventurine has to show the whole of penacony that death exsists in the dreamscape to prove that the harmony seal is a lie and to get closer to the Watchmakers legacy. This will cause panic and distrust in thebfamily and give the ipc a way to regain penacony. Now here is ad times real gamble. He dies from the harmony in 16hrs but if he can get Acheron to erase him before that happens does that also erase the harmony death note and does it send him to robin and sunday??? We know now from Ratio that death doesnt in fact reside in the dreamscape and that the meme just like in game puts its victims to sleep. Or "Dormancy" as he calls it. If ad time comes back like acheron said he could, he's free of the ipc and sunday and can pursue his own goals or he's just dead next to ix for the rest of time. "All or nothing."

The interaction between Sam and Acheron fixed what made Acheron one of my least favourite characters. I hated how her existence up until that point was pointless since everything would have played out the same way without her but Sam saying that she isn’t even a footnote in Elio’s script makes her much more complete. Her existence was intentionally pointless up until that point and after she found out that it will be pointless even if she actively involves herself she actually decided to do so. This interaction did so much for her character its crazy

Ok something I noticed now that I didn't realize is something a little strange. As we know everyone is coming to Penacony for the Watchmaker's Legacy, the reason Sam was sent was to set us on the path to the Watchmaker's Legacy, but was he really? Whenever the Watchmaker's Legacy is brought up it usually referred to as the Watchmaker's Legacy, but in Elio's script it mentions a grand legacy. Now it could just imply it's the Watchmaker's Legacy but if so why is it not referred to as such. What if the grand legacy is not the Watchmaker's Legacy but something else. I believe we as the Trailblazer have always been following Elio's script unknowingly. And through this script we have gained the gaze of Nanook and Qlipoth and gained the power of Destruction and Preservation. What if the grand legacy Elio mentions is not the Watchmaker's Legacy, but the gaze of Xipe and the power of Harmony. Before we even met Sam, we were always going to look for the Watchmaker's Legacy because of the invite we got. So Sam isn't needed to get us to track it down cause we were kinda already doing it. So that's why I believe the "grand legacy" and the Watchmaker's Legacy could be two seperate things, or I'm just wrong and there the same thing, we won't know till 2.2.
