I personally did not have a bad experience with my passport application. I applied on March this year and by June this year my passport was out. I didn't have to pay any bribes or encounter any problems. However I have heard from a lot of people including friends who had to offer bribes, some had to wait over a year to have their passports processed.

I applied my passport in January, Since now he is in the first stage (7 month) , and for the last 3 months I was coming back everyday to know why my passport is not progressing, and I come to know unless I pay no one is going to do the service for me , how painful is it . The KENYAN system is still too slow and outdated, I worked with Germany and Turkish İmmigrations, Their systems are well arranged. I believe we can İnstall similar system.

It's simply because before this apparently very recent improvement of system, many applicants spent several months camping at Nyayo house due to the deep corruption at every level from the gate. Most went through inhumane treatment from officials - and gave up. So many may need months to recover from the deep trauma they were cruelly subjected to by Nyayo officials.

Just from the topic - immigration is rotten to the core. If u didn't give ' something ', it would take u months or even never get it all together. Being a civil servant, didn't do any better in me getting my passport. The PR in this government is on another level, PS is just fooling viewers. I did my biometrics Feb this year, it's still in "LOADING ". If the process takes 14days then I would have gotten my passport a long time ago. I had a job offer which I lost because of these burgers,for PS to come on national TV and pull our legs is totally mediocrity.
