Loved the bird ringing in my younger day, and on one occasion we caught a Hen Harrier while netting a pied wagtail roost .

More than a hobby I think, they are so dedicated at what they do and have to be trained and all the information they collect is so important for the protection of birds.

I'm always touched by how submissive the birds are in a confident pair of hands, no panic and fluttering. It's a lovely thing to see. Thanks for filming it so well.

Awesome film Graham. Never failed to be struck with what a privilege it is to have contact like this with such beautiful birds - and as they fly away with their rings they're spearheading conservation for their kind. Really thoroughly enjoyable morning with great like-minded company all-round. Bravo. Si.

Absolutely Si, and thanks again for setting it up, looking forward to getting together again soon:-)

Great video thank you for charing, but for anyone here wanting to ring birds, please don't throw the bids while letting them go. Sometimes they are still in shock and can't move right away so they would just fall on the Grund and potentinally get hurt.
