Great sermon, thank you pastor for holding up the importance of tradition which many people ignorantly think is contrary to proper worship. Remember the Recobites! Also, it's not holiness people slandering the holiness message, but those of who believe contrary doctrines, (the ones we give grace to), that do it.

Hebrews 4:13, says, and I'm not sure why it's never included in a sermon like this, but it says - "And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account." It is referring to what was just said in verse 12 which is "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Verse 13 says there is "no creature hidden from HIS sight" and "all things are naked and open to the eyes of HIM..." (emphasis added). Verse 13 is so obviously referring to the the Living Word, Jesus Christ, in verse 12, not the Bible or written word. A relationship with the Bible cannot change you no matter how often you read it, no matter how much you study it, no matter how much you love it, not even if you believe every word of it! It is given to us as and for a testimony of Jesus Christ, the Living Word, and to direct us to Him, the One who can change us if we'll follow the Spirit out of the Adamic nature we're all born with and into the Divine Nature of Jesus Christ. That's what salvation is, being led by the Spirit out of one nature and into another one. It's putting off the "old man" and putting on the "Lord Jesus Christ." Having our sins forgiven happens in Christ, when we've been truly "born again," a real spiritual birthing by the power of God's Spirit. The forgiveness of sins is only the beginning of the journey from Adam to Christ, from flesh to Spirit, from death to Life. It's not a stopping place. There's a journey from Egypt, the dark land, to Canaan, the land of light and Life, the Promised Land. And there's a vast and howling wilderness in between the two that threatens the traveler's journey but is there to cause us to learn to keep our eyes on the Cloud and the Pillar of Fire and trust Him to feed us with a Heavenly food, "manna," and give us Living Water from the Rock, which is Christ, and to starve the desires we brought with us from the land of Egypt, the world, as we learn how to live in, and feed on Christ, no longer turning to the things of time to try to satisfy the insatiable appetite of the soul. Only in Christ, and not because the Bible says we're in Christ as Christians but because we are actually beginning to experience the reality of Christ inwardly as we go on with the Spirit will we ever find true rest, true peace, and true joy happening in our soul, the ones that come from above and that nothing or no one can take away. The Bible is a wonderful gift from God, but it is words about Christ, it is NOT Christ, the Living Word. And if we error there, what foundation are we building on?! Our foundation must be Christ, not the Bible, or the house we're building on it will collapse in the end!
