EDUCATION COMMITTEE & CHURCH COUNCIL NOTES
Miss Megan Lepke’s acceptance of our Call to teach grades 1-2 starting next school year was noted with gratitude to God. A letter of thanks from Mr. Duve was read to the Council expressing his thanks for the concern shown him and his family at the passing of his mother. Annual Voters Meeting is Sunday, Jan. 21, 1 p.m. Council & Finance Committee meet afterward to organize. Thanks were expressed to Mr. Dan Kinstler who is completing his six years on the Council. Lent begins Ash Wed. Feb. 14 with weekly Wednesday services at 9:00 a.m. & 7:00 p.m. As noted in the year-end offering figures in the bulletin, although the “received” and “budget” figures accurately reflect the difference between weekly offerings and the budget set by the voters, actual expenditures for 2017 were less than budgeted. This, and other funds received in addition to weekly offerings, resulted in finishing the year slightly in the black rather than in the red. This will be reflected in the more detailed financial report to the voters.
