So good to see you back Mel - you're an inspiration. I have a lot of respect and admiration for you getting out there and doing it on your own and keeping us entertained! I love the charity events you participate in, and the way you get involved with the community by doing things like taking the old timers out fishing. That would be the highlight of their year to spend some quality time on the boat with you out in the sun havin fun! By far the best medicine for them. Hey Mel with your nail clippers if there is a hole in them put a bit of twine or cord through it about as big as a neck lace bit bigger actually so it dangles around your neck , easy to access on you the whole time your fishing and not having to look for them , this is what I do and at the end of the day give them a rise and put it in your tackle box ,easy peazy , I do this all the time , the nail clippers are my favourite as well for trimming lines .👍

As a spectacularly unsuccessful fisherman, I have found your videos chock full of very useful information presented with an understated dry wit and a sense of humour I thought only I had. Since I've been watching your channel and thanks to you, my knowledge has sky-rocketed off the chart! I'm still spectacularly unsuccessful but I feel like now I am one of the most knowledgeable fisherman who couldn't catch a fish to save himself - a bit like a rocket scientist who can't light a gas stove. But hey, it's great to know one's limitations! I now have a greater understanding of why the expert fishermen I used to go with often expressed a desire to kill me. I thought it was because of the coffee I made.

Flathead hooked have a distinct head shakimg and knocking....different from just a moving heavy weight of rays, shovelnose sharks, assorted bottom dwellers.
