This is wonderful what is being done for kids. I grew up in church and saw the music being played and how it was praise unto the Lord. It affected my life in a way that it gave me a desire to play. I know that all you working for this cause is a blessing to these children. Thank you once again for your work.

My wife is very sick and I have been tied up at the VA hospital, so I am late today. In my readings I came across this about Praise to God... Psalm 92:4 With an instrument of ten strings, and with the psaltery; with a solemn sound upon the harp. Are you going to need to start playing a steel guitar and harmonica..? ~ Really enjoyed this today... I hope all those beautiful guitars will be acquired by someone who knows and loves you two Christian men... (Someday.. not any time soon) God Bless...

Morning Doyle and Neal! Great message today. Sorry about your friend Kurt -- I know he left behind some great memories and of course beautiful instruments to be enjoyed for years to come. Speaking of friends--my long time friend of 30 yrs and past bandmate has that exact same model and color Taylor. It's a beautifully designed instrument and such a joy to play! If he lived closer I'd be over everyday haha. Have a wonderful week Doyle and God Bless. ❤

A beautiful String-Along, with your dear friend Neal. On my 16th birthday, 1969, I cashed in my U.S. Savings Bonds and got a ride, with my friend and his mom in a top-down '65 Cadillac, to the Breck Music store in Clearwater Florida. I bought myself my first 'real' guitar - a '67 Gibson J-45 ADJ. (It had that funky adjustable rosewood saddle...). You're a godly man Br. Doyle, and I'm beginning to understand how you are also such a good friend to me - and to many of the rest of us. To be continued...

What an awesome great service. I think it is a great thing what you guys are doing for the kids. I'm sure it will help a lot of kids. I want to keep my prayer request for my brother Franklin/Mike Charles in Elkton, Maryland. He still has cancer and is not doing very well. Please ask God for a miracle and allow my brother to live a few more years. He has always been a good man. Please God don't take my brother for a few years. Thank you all and God bless this channel always.

Kirk Sand “passed away last Sunday, a week ago today,” said Doyle Dykes, moments after playing his friend's 'Kirk Sand' nylon-string acoustic-electric, identical to his own. “It's amazing - even without a sound hole and, given how thin it is” said Doyle, yet the masterfully 'chambered' body projects a balanced range of tone -- as Mr. Sand intended. Just as an aside, every single finger-style virtuoso - from Chet Atkins and Lenny Breau, to Doyle Dykes and Tommy Emmanuel -- has owned a Kirk Sand, crafted just for them. Enough said. Doyle is in Nebraska and his “good friend Neal” owns a copy of every Doyle Dykes signature instrument. “Guitar rich - or guitar poor!" says Doyle. Pick it up at the 3:33 mark.

Doyle thanks for your string along. I have what I feel is an important question. I know that you hold Rick Warren in high regard and have mentioned him often on the string alongs. I’m curious about your views on Warrens stance on women as Pastors in his church?
@stephenmaestas64266 ай бұрын
I was wondering about the setups on the guitars you give to children. I know from watching Phil McKnight's "Know Your Gear" podcasts that the #1 issue with student grade instruments is the setup. If a new player is given a guitar with a bad setup, and inexpensive instruments usually do have a bad setup out of the box, they might not enjoy their learning experience and they may quit. Are you training volunteers in how to go about setting them up? Maybe the sucessful students from the previous year can get the training? Every guitar player should learn how to do this for him or herself anyway, right?

That’s a good point. The Guitars that I played that Jake has were great.

Love your show. Good for the soul. Wish, though, you'd perhaps discard the NIV. It's wrought with error. The ESV and KJV are the best translations in comparison to the original Greek. The NIV has taken liberties that are unproductive. Although, anyone can be saved from any version, as it is the Holy Spirit working in us to convict us and bring us unto Christ Jesus. Rick Warren is iffy as well. Do your research with an unbiased view and approach. Praying for you and your ministry. Romans 12:12 Psalm 40:1-5
