This law is grossly unjust. Even the CPS are saying its not a measure of a persons 'fitness to drive'! Its set at zero tolerance levels because cannabis is illegal. Therefore, it should make no difference where I am when I get busted. If I get busted on foot in town chances are, I'd get a caution. At most I'd get a fine. If I get caught in my car I get to lose my licence and my ability to work. With upwards of 2 million regular users in the UK, can we afford to take many of them out of the economy? It costs the average taxpayer £400 a year to support the governments drug policy. This is madness! But much of what is happening in the UK right now is madness! Half the population just voted to make their lives much more difficult!!! You figure it out. The Lib Dems want to legalise it. So make the next election a Single Issue vote and give the government a good slap!

When you're really high you should probably not drive. I've seen/read studies also and normally a marijuana user can determine whether or not they're safe to drive as marijuana, unlike alcohol does not impair judgement. However, the new laws can prosecute you for smoking 72+ hours after being over the 2µg/L limit. It can also be detected almost a month in chronic users (those who smoke more than 10 joints a day). The new law is flawed in the sense it does not punish drink drivers the same as "drug drivers". If it did, a drink driver would be able to be prosecuted so long as there is more than 2µg/L in his/her blood levels, far after they have sobered up. Also, as cannaboids can be stored in human fat tissue, your body can be releasing over the limit amounts far after you've given up using the substance. This is not new driving legislation, this is a war on drugs, an unnecessary war where some of said drugs have now been medically proven to help people. Here is a list of the limits in blood and drug by type. Drug Threshold limit in blood Benzoylecgonine 50µg/L Clonazepam 50µg/L Cocaine 10µg/L Delta - 9 - Tetrahydrocannabinol (Cannabis & Cannabinol) 2µg/L

My friend had one of these saliva tests at work, he tested positive for cocaine. The sample then goes of to be anylsed and he got laid off for a 2 weeks. When the second result came back they discovered the cocaine wasn't actually cocaine, it picked up on something from his prescribed medicine. What if this happens at the roadside,he gets his vehicle seized until a more accurate reading comes back...

It was a staged stop that's why there was no search. They only search your home address if you are a suspected dealer or if a suspected dealer is living at you address. If they smell it on you they can only search you and the vehicle you are in and when nothing is found you get to go.

Unless they caught you physically smoking a joint how could they prove you are under the influence at that time of stop. This test is so flawed I cannot believe how it even got through parliament.
