Four wins from four and top of the league - Sunderland have enjoyed a flawless start to the Championship campaign. So what's been the key to their success so far? We reflect on the first four games and the many positives to emerge.
One of the big plusses has been the form of Eliezer Mayenda - but will Sunderland pay the price for not signing a senior experienced striker? We discuss the transfer window after last week's deadline.

I was against Mowbray's sacking. It was hasty and not without a hint of pettiness. What followed bore that out, but we now just might have the right man for the job. What an impact not seen since Keane and Stokoe. The players are clearly on board with his ideas and he's gained their confidence and trust in double quick time. The four victories do have the caveat of not being against the strongest opposition, the bookie's latest odds on final placings bear that out on three of them and Burnley was going through a chaotic week, but there's no denying we swept them away with very assured confidence. Very decent window, Brown could well be the bargain of the season. The lack of an experienced striker has to be seen as a failure and trying to placate us by describing a wide player as versatile enough to play through the middle doesn't fool anybody. Rigg to make the England U 21s before the season is out? Wouldn't bet against it.

KLD and Speakman only got the manager because he was last in the list. Very lucky from their point of view. He is very good and doing well until his upsets Speakman.

@@michaeltraynor4825 He wasn't the first choice no doubt, I'll take the luck. We have to hope the hierarchy has learned a few lessons.

There’s punching above your weight then there’s Jason puncheon. Sunderland are absolutely Jason puncheon right now. I still think they finish mid table and we beat them 21st
