In the late 60's or early 70's there was a dip that you could make your own flowers with. It wasn't resin but a plastic goo but it dried hard in half a minute and made pretty see through flowers. Also there was another plastic goo that was more stretchy that you would put a pea sized amount on the end of a straw then blow. it would make a balloon that you could play with if you were careful. It didn't last long but the fun was in creating.

They are beautiful. I noticed that you were using resin without gloves. Is it safe to do that or am I confusing the types of resin? I just have been afraid ( even though I bought some) to use resin because I am 68 and I don't have the best health. P.S. I'm still waiting for your book! Thank you for more beautiful things to dream about! ⚘
@oliviacarter29172 жыл бұрын
I've been looking into it, as well. There's an article on the diycraftclub website called "Resin Safety" that talks about all the protective equipment needed for resin. She recommends the same equipment regardless of resin/epoxy type, including a respirator, gloves, goggles, working in a well-ventilated area, and so on. It seems like a good source to start with for safety information. Resin is very intimidating, though, so I'm not sold on trying it out yet, either. I hope you have safe, happy crafting with whatever project you decide to do!
@ligaskirbauska86522 жыл бұрын
UV resin is pretty much same as UV nail gel-nail polish,so it’s safe to use on hands as we use it on hands...Dip it-fantasy dip it,or similar products used to dip these kind a flowers(some people use simple nail polish too 😉) also are not that toxic as you would think.if you don’t eat it,don’t smear it around all the place,in eyes,hair and so on.its ok.can clean off residue from any of those products with basic rubbing alcohol(I always have handy some wipes and cotton pads and alcohol to wipe off fast anyways,gloves no gloves,if you with dirty gloves touch around it’s even worst,hands you really feel if there is any residue,so less likely o touch and contaminate buy touch)wash hands after well,rinse well and apply some hand cream,I have very sensitive skin,I’m VIP level nail artist with over 20 year experience in teaching and product development,who does ton of crafts and arts,resin arts and pretty much same products used in nail arts can be used in resin,are interchangeable and any nail art effect you like in nail art,can be made in resin art 😉) hope this can help you to loose nerve,don’t fear it.we work with these products for decades on millions of costumers every year(nail art gels market is billion dollar market every year-sooo much this kind a products are used and sold)it’s very rare for anyone to have any allergies or anything really,just need to understand that it can’t be cleaned with water,like you wouldn’t use water to clean off nail polish and would grab nail polish remover(who also buy the way works grate in case you don’t have alcohol,any of them will work) you clean up accordingly with these kind resins.Something like that,if I can help,don’t hesitate to ask..will say that all brands will write all kinds of advice,gloves,Google’s,mask or whatever,don’t eat,drink,smoke near buy and so on,just cos they have to to protect them self from extra dumb who later fast sue..but really these products are even pretty much even used to fill teeth 🦷,yeah,the white resin used to fill holes they cure with light also is this kind a resin,they just allow you to swallow any of it,work extra carefully,so soooo bad it can’t be,even if for dental filler from own experience I don’t like it,prefer old silver ones,those stay in place for lifetime,but frontal teeth,generally are made with these kind a resins.Funny Fact,first not silver fillers where invented buy dentist who traumatised his nail on toe while playing football and to take off pain,stabilise nail applied the resin to check out if his product would work in other ways and that’s how nail gel was invented and pretty much polymers where designed,from there we got them,from health care.so sooo toxic they can’t be and been around over 30 years,I think we would have much more sightings and reports of side effects,allergies and so on during all these years and millions if not billions of costumers.hope this can Help people to understand more the product and don’t fear it,just don’t be imbecile,touch lips,face,eyes or anything with dirty hands,don’t drink-eat it like you wouldn’t with nail polish

I usually don't use gloves while working with UV resin, but it's never a bad idea to be on the safe side! There have definitely been times where I wished I HAD worn gloves though, because it's gotten on my fingers a few times and it makes my skin itchy. Just washing it off with soap and water made it go away though! It's very sticky and it won't dry up unless you cure it obviously, so messes with it can get pretty annoying.
