Thank you for the review quite well done. Going to go buy one today. I am a big guy over 6' and 250+. Buying this one because of the capacity and the stability and felt based on EVERY review I watched I feel it is the best kayak under $500 there is for a big guy like me. I have A LOT of small lakes and streams near my home and quite a few within 30 minuets or less of my home all have good fishing available and shore fishing obviously really limits your access to most of the better fish holding habitat. I wanted a kayak I could stand up and fish from and IMHO this is the most stable kayak under $500 you can buy. I have a very large shallow lake (max depth

How did the kayak perform? I'm 300 lbs and looking to getting it. Did it give you any problems.?

Thanks for your input. I'm looking for a stable 1st kayak that is a darker green(grass green is the greatest)because I hunt and fish and just like being out. Your video was very informative and lets me know what I am going to have to look out for but in general I really like this one. Because it is my first and I am on a budget anyhow. This one is I think the best for the money.

Ozark Trail 12 Pro Angler is the same kayak but green if you haven't purchased yet.

Both great boats. The Yukon is smaller and lighter much easier to load on a roof rack or just throw in back of your truck. This Boss is bigger more stable and not exactly a throw and go. Let me know which one your decide to go with.

@@greatamericansurvival Actually they are VERY close in weight in 2022-23 model of the Yukon VS the Boss SS. That is why I went with the Boss SS 150lbs more capacity wider beam=more stability.

Bought one and love it. I haven’t drilled my scupper holes out and haven’t needed to yet. The bunjee on the back of the seat keeps it from falling forward when attached to the back area cord. Over all love this boat.

Very nice looking boat. I have the older model also, the journey 12ss but I could definitely see myself upgrading to this thing.

Definitely looking forward to the updated reviews for this one! Do you think it would be a good kayak for men that are around 270 lbs?
@greatamericansurvival3 жыл бұрын
I’ve really enjoyed this boat, I’m 200 and 6’0 and I don’t think even 300 pounds would be an issue

How does this compare to the perception outlaw 11.5?
@greatamericansurvival Жыл бұрын
I like the Outlaw it’s super stable, but it heavy. How big are you? If your over 275 go with the outlaw or if your planning to add a trolling motor. The Boss is easy to paddle and a great kayak all around. But if your over 300 pounds it flex’s a lot where your worried it’s gonna fold in half. But it’s much lighter and easier to control especially in moving water. But the Outlaw is one of the easiest kayaks to stand up and fish in period. Let me know if this helps or which one you decide to get.

Why is the hull design not good for rivers?
@greatamericansurvival2 жыл бұрын
The main thing about this boat is the bottom is long and flat which mean it’s gonna track very well. This boat doesn’t have any rocker we makes it hard to turn. So even though I paddle a lot, this boat goes up stream easily but when it starts to turn the current makes it want to roll sideways. At 12 feet long it leans in current and wants to dump you out. Your not likely to flip it but you easily fall out. Still for the price it’s an amazing choice for a fishing kayak. It goes down stream very well. Let me know if you get one and what you think about it. Or if you have any more questions. Thanks
