It's such a shame these kayaks have such a big issue with warping and cracking. It happened to me too, which made me go in a different direction with a different kayak. On one hand I get it, its a 1,000 kayak its going to come with the territory on some level, and having these issues happen 2-4 years after purchase isn't as insane as it happening on a 3-4k kayak. That principle makes sense. But I do wish they did more to reinforce that footwell area. Its probably loosing them business on some level, people do their research, they see all these issues, and it turns them away because they do nothing to change it. Great Video!

It’s a good platform for the price but you are right, I wish there a was a little more reinforcement where you stand.

The plastic is weak, you should see the cracks on mine. It's terrible, but the kayak is awesome I'd buy another. I don't feel as though we should have to add more things to stiffen the deck area (personal opinion) but I have seen people build a plywood cut out for the deck. These "Kayaks" don't need more weight on them but they look slick and apparently it works.

100% agree. This kayak is great. Great on the water and easily customizable, but the plastic is a huge downside to this kayak. I’ve seen some pictures with the plywood decks but not sure I would want the weight. I think the easiest way to remedy the problem is to buy more foam/blocks under the deck.

@aclifffishing I plan to get another, will definitely be taking the foam from mine and adding it to the new 1.

What do you think cause the cracks ?
@vincentcolon7909Ай бұрын
I was looking at your video and I wanted to know is there a company out there that can fix those cracks is something you could do yourself? I don’t know I’m asking because I love the boat myself. I like your video so I just wanted to know if you’ve been looking for somebody to fix them I wanna be informed, that would be a good video
@aclifffishingАй бұрын
Not sure about any company but there are videos out there that walk you through the process. You can plastic weld. It was not the route I wanted to go.
@UntamedOutdoorsmenАй бұрын
Plastic welding is the permanent fix. For a quick fix, you can take a home depot bucket and a lot of heat and actually mold the plastic from the bucket into the kayak. Its not a permanent fix but it'll seal it.

You lie. This is tippy AF. I bought stabilzers on Amazon and they work great. BASS tournament director told me they aren't allowed in tournaments!!! F this kayak, it's way dangerous. People, it looks great, but WILL DUMP YOU. SCARY
@jasonkable1462Ай бұрын
funny, I've been doing research on this kayak for a month now and everyone raves about the stability and everyone talks about the warping and cracking.
@jasonkable1462Ай бұрын
also just researched your claim about not being able to use them in tournaments. That's busted claim. This thing is literally designed for kayak fishing tournaments.
@aclifffishingАй бұрын
@2quack I have fished out of this kayak hundreds of times and never once come close to flipping. I stand while fishing and motoring and am fine. Accidents do happen but I feel very comfortable on this kayak.
@aclifffishingАй бұрын
You are correct. I have fished in my local kayak club and been fine.
