@Misa Amane She posted a video about it on her own channel just a few weeks ago. It apparently affected her quite badly, although she got through it. But I really wouldn't downplay it. Being live in front of millions of people on TV would freak any adult out, nevermind a child. That sort of pressure just shouldn't be put on children.
@TheYasmineFlower5 жыл бұрын
@Misa Amane It's okay to be wrong. I'd just always err on the side of caution about assuming how much trauma another person experienced.
@bubblegumbxtchh5 жыл бұрын
Misa Amane Ew why on Earth would you excuse trauma because “everyone develops it” or whatever? That’s disgusting. No, a healthy and proper upbringing should not lead to trauma whatsoever unless it’s possibly from a circumstance not within the parent’s control.
@bubblegumbxtchh5 жыл бұрын
Misa Amane I thought you watched the video. She stated in it that it wasn’t a problem with her having stage-fright which wouldn’t really make any sense considering how many performances she had done before this. It was an anxiety attack. This is what I mean.. you’re dismissing her trauma by making it seem overblown or not a big deal when in reality, you had no idea what was going on behind the scenes. And I did read all the comments, mine was specifically in response to you believing that everyone encounters trauma in their childhood and that it should be seen as normal.
@bubblegumbxtchh5 жыл бұрын
Misa Amane I think it depends on what you mean by trauma. Having PTSD and having trauma because your pet died are two completely different things. Yes, everyone encounters it but that doesn’t mean it should be accepted or used as a reason as to why what happened to her isn’t a big deal.

To the uploader: Please turn off the comments. I don't think Hollie needs to be harassed about this a decade after the fact. To the negative commenters, this is a young child in an incredibly high stress situation. She's on national TV in a very high stakes competition. Would she have reacted the same way at a school or regional talent show? Probably not. Therefore, her reaction to being told she couldn't go again cannot be considered "bratty" or a tantrum because these are extreme circumstances. The stress got the better of her.

I don't know why, but this really makes me miss 2000's tv. (obviously not the part where she's crying)

I remember watching this live. I felt a pit in my stomach seeing her cry, and then seeing her panic that she might not get a re-do. Thankfully, I've since seen a video with an adult Holly now reflecting on it, I'm glad she's doing well. She seems like a normal adult. I'm so happy that it wasn't one of those situations were the parents bully the kid into being a performer. Regardless, there should be an age limit on solo performers. Dance acts, yeah some young members may make sense for certain acts in terms of a dance routine, but regarding solo performers - under 18 years old it's too much stress and pressure. And Holly was a 10 year old! No wonder her nerves got the best of her. She is super talented, but yeesh, the BGT stage is a bit much for a 10 year old.

awwh this is such a shame she got so nervous because she originally wanted to sing a different song and the producers wouldn’t let her, she had never heard of the song edelweiss before the show so i think she got nervous as she hadn’t practiced it as much as the other song she wanted to sing

Poor Ant and Dec at 3:13 - I bet when Ant heard in his ear piece the producer telling him they didn't have time, he must have felt awful. Ant and Dec are professionals of course, they really did their best here in trying to calm her down. Simon also being calm and considerate helped. Having kids on national TV at that young age has it's problems, and it was exposed that night.
@MsJubjubbird Жыл бұрын
Simon owns the show. So if anyone can override production about giving her a shot it his him. I just have a little suspicion is that this is all set up. It would not surprise me if production prepped her to be nervous, waited for her to mess up, said she couldn't go again and then Simon jumped in and "saved the day"- and then she gets through to the final. It makes a great story.
@johnking5174Ай бұрын
@@MsJubjubbird No way would that be allowed. I doubt they would have done that. Also remember ITV has a schedule and commercials to run, running order and time is counted and they wouldn't want this mess up interfering with it.
@MsJubjubbirdАй бұрын
@@johnking5174 Oh reality shows prep the contestants to act a certain way all the time. They have production assistants who run through the schedule with the contestant and get them ready, but they also have a job to get the contestants in a certain mindframe. So, they might build someone up to make them feel they are amazing, which will make their reaction all the better when the judges tell tem they suck, or might give them the confidence to be a shining star if they want them to be a winner. They often pick the outfits and the songs for the contestants- or at least lead them towards making a certain choice- so if they don't want someone to go through, they'll pick something that won't resonate with the audience. The fact that they magically had time is pretty amazing for something that wasn't scheduled when the timing is so strict. If ca so see a production assistant being with her before helping her wit her make up and just saying "now rememer, if you mess it up, you can always ask to go again." Say it ten ties and the kid will be totally freaked out. If it doesn't work out and she makes it through the performance then Ant and Dec can talk for a bit longer with each of the contestants.

oh come on guys! she's a child! I can't do that on stage and I'm nearly twice her age and have been performing on stage for 8 years, I still have breakdowns ON STAGE when I'm singing because my nerves are so bad, but when you know you can do it but nerves make you fail, it's the most heartbreaking moment, and that's what she went through. Just give the kid a break, if I knew people were saying things like this about me after I break down on stage, I wouldn't be able to perform ever again!
