Sunlight Mountain Opening Day! - Sun King to Midway (4K)

Would this be a good spot for beginners? I’ll be staying in Glenwood the first week of January with some friends and we would like to try out skiing or snowboarding

I think Sunlight Mountain is a great choice for beginners. Sunlight is more of a smaller area, and lift tickets are pretty cheap. If you're not looking to splurge at Aspen/Snowmass, than Sunlight awesome; no frills and extra expenses added on top as well. Since its more of a smaller area, Sunlight sees minimal crowds and pretty decent lodging around the base. As far as terrain goes there is a green trail off of every lift, with a magic carpet (I think) and the Tercro triple lift servicing the beginner terrain, so if you're looking to build up your skills they do a pretty good job for what you get. They do have more natural trails in the beginner area (not groomed runs), so I'd just be aware of that also. I assume rental gear is also pretty cheap too, but I have my own gear so I can't really give you an answer on their prices for services.
