I've had three different Sunlighten saunas. I loved my first one, but it had a digital control pad. Then they switched to using Android tablets and they became problematic. I had too many issues with them. Sunlighten makes a great sauna, but they need to change their control panels and move away from the tablets. Durability wise, electronics never function well in high heat anyways and it seemed like it constantly needed updating or would reboot during a sauna session. I've also owned a Clearlight sauna, but it took too long to warm up. My current sauna is the HealthMate, which was incredibly easy to assemble, heats up quickly and has a digital control panel. It's simple, easy and reliable. Having owned saunas for over 25 years, each brand has their pros and cons and it also depends on how you'll use your sauna or which particular model you purchase as they're not all the same even within the same brand family.

I built a platform with 2x4 and plywood for mine that was level so that you don't need to shim it like you did. As for the Tablet.. agree. But at the end of the day it makes you sweat, pairing your phone to the bluetooth also works very easily.

I wish I could afford a infrared sauna, especially one without terrible EMF. My 3 choices would be Sunlighten, Clearlight, and SaunaSpace (Although i hear so many conflicting opinions on a SuanaSpace).

Have you looked at the Sunlighten Solo - it’s probably the least-expensive way to jump I to the IR sauna bandwagon. See michaelkummer.com/health/sunlighten-solo-review/

Best video I have seen to cover all aspects. Your “shims” make me nervous for you! Maybe use some pressure treated wood (since exposed to outdoors)to build a better support scaffold.
@MichaelKummer

Thanks Mark! I was thinking of replacing the shims with brick or a solid block of pressure-treated wood (as you said). I just haven't gotten around to doing it. But I did get a door mat since recording the video :)

Hi Michael. Thank you for your review. I am getting one tomorrow from a friend of mine. I am planning on putting it outside under my covered porch. How is yours holding up? What is your weather like in your area? Appreciated the video!
@MichaelKummer
@MichaelKummer 2 жыл бұрын
Mine has been holding up really well. We recently added the cover (was on backorder) to further protect the exterior of the sauna! We're in Georgia and usually have hot and humid summers and relatively mild winters.

If I remember correctly, all I had to do was launch the Sunlighten app and create an account...and increase the brightness via the system settings. Did you run into any issues?

Hey Michael thanks for the video. We ended up getting this exact same model. I have had the believe about 2 weeks and it’s in my garage. It’s only getting up to about 135 degrees and that’s after 2 hours of heating? Is that normal? It’s pretty cold in the garage but I figured it would get hotter than that.
@MichaelKummer
@MichaelKummer Жыл бұрын
If it really cold, mine doesn’t get much warmer than that either. However, if you’re close to the heaters, your body will get hotter than that. It’s just that the air in the cabin doesn’t get hotter when it’s really cold outside.

If you're referring to the electrical requirements, you need a dedicated 120V 20A circuit.

We just purchased the Sunlighten Aspire and the wiring on top does not match any of the assembly videos so we are unable to connect and use it until we can reach customer service. I was really looking forward to using it tonight. Any advice? I have pictures of what we are seeing. The videos show the tablet connect up top but it was on the floor. Not sure what all the wiring is that we see up top.
@MichaelKummer
@MichaelKummer Жыл бұрын
With the mPulse, the wiring on top was for the speakers, radio and the antenna (that we don’t use).

Hello, the infrared sauna panels behind the black screen dont shine red through the mesh ? do you have it turned off in the video ? and you were able to lie back on the mesh, is that when its turned on too ?
@MichaelKummer
@MichaelKummer 11 ай бұрын
That's because the sauna in the video is the old mPulse that didn't have red light panels yet. Check out kzbin.info/www/bejne/bKbKp2Csm5pqj6c if you want to see the new mPulse. And yes, I carefully lean against the mesh until it gets too hot and I need a few inches of distance between the panels and my skin.

Seriously considering this but wondering if having the tablet/programs is worth the upgrade?
@MichaelKummer
@MichaelKummer Жыл бұрын
There are pros and cons to it. I like to disconnect and not have any devices nearby but sometimes I also enjoy catching up on YT videos I didn’t have the time watching. So it depends on what you’re trying to get out of your sauna sessions.

i bought one that is all eucalyptus from a guy who paid $8,200. it was still palletized at his house. i paid him $6k. now know that the warranty is not transferrable so i am taking that chance. it is absolutely phenomenal. definitely professional grade in every way. i would expect to pay $8k for the eucalyptus.
