I had one in the 70's . I also had a couple of Beta leads , a 2x12 combo and a head w/ a 6x10. With an MXR dist.+ they would blow up a room. My model T had a volume warning on the back. It would kill a deer at 25 ft away. It had the tall 4x12 sunn silver faced 4 ohm cab of those transducer speakers which I took out and replaced with 4 fender speakers out of 2 Super Twins. Those were the days. Also the line booster pedal was great with the T.

@Veved19836 жыл бұрын
Shred Shed No I did not. But thanks for suggestion. I will definitely try that when I go back to the jam space tomorrow. I had it running in the chain. I did run into some technical issues though. Originally I had it placed right after my Big Saucy Box and OCD but it made my overall signal super quiet. Even with the pedal on, I was just getting crazy hissing sound and no tone. I decided to change its placement to see if it’ll make any difference and put it right after my tuner but before my OD pedals. It works fine now. I find it really strange how it happened. I thought it would work just fine when placed after my drives. For the record I run my amp on clean channel and add everything on top.

Clearly, they took the "fake it 'till you make it " shit to heart.I suppose it is a good way to learn the basics.
@raulperez23085 жыл бұрын
amp simulators are great too. as good as it will sound, carrying a sunn head and a 4x10 on tour is a huge pain in the ass, and maintenance is another issue.
@XChristianNoirX5 жыл бұрын
Kemper is 99% there. I was stressing about that 1% when profiling my own amps, but then I forced myself to keep trying and realized the studio profiles countless producers were making sound better than my own mic'd sound through their expertise and gear. Then, I have also adjusted the profiles in ways that are impossible with amps. My profiles don't sound 3xactky like my real amps, but I have adjusted them into abilities the amp's can't attain. Also, let's say you like a 5150, Orange, Mesa or whatever.. You get 50 profiles of your favorite amp from different sources, and then scroll through them really quickly, and find your perfect "mic'd" tone. All amps have been maintained differently have different bias settings, tubes, and all sorts of stuff. Combined with the studio gear and expertise used to make the profiles, you could end up with something better than you could on your own, without spending about the same value as an amp (or more Inin case of studio gear) on just the amp's tubes, adjustments, cabs etc and TIME. Plus you can duplicate the sound every single day of the year, without shenanigans. With that said, I love the sound of an amp in the room, but it's also been a big pain in the arse working so hard on my sound, to realize it sounds so different with a mic in front. With the Kemper, what you hear is what you get through the end speaker. I still have 3x 100 watt amps and a 50watt, but my daily driver is a Kemper, and I keep spending a lot of money to keep my amps tuned. Had to get rid of some because it was a money pit. By Kemper 2.0 or 3.0, o expect even less of a difference. The Kemper converters are kinda meh, so I run it via sodiff to the AxeFx at 48k which makes it sound better. Another thing is.. I wouldn't go other modeler route unless you want to spend a lot of time fidgeting. Like I said with the Kemper, load up a butt load of profiles and just scroll till you find the right one. Then make some adjustments. That's the best way. With a modeler, you will fidget forever and keep changing IR's until you turn blue or green, infinitely adjust and orobay end up with a worse sound. It took me 2 years to master an AxeFxII. With the Kemper as soon as I ammased a bunch of quality profiles, it was almost instant to get a good sound. The effects took longer, but a great tone came pretty quick. I also runn fuzz and OD pedals in front which help a bit to get a more 3d sound by adding some analogue flavor and randomness to the sound. In fact, I use 4 different OD's to change the characteristics of my tone rather than adjusting the Kemper too much other than the gain knob to play nice. Fuzz totally sucks in digital world. It's just too chaotic to reproduce and ends up sounding pretty 2d in most situations. If you are missing some ambience and can't life without it, mic the studio monitor, room, or a wedge and most it in super slightly. You can even do that during playback on a separate track.. If you want string noise in the room, mic the guitar or whatever. Some people miss the love string noise of they tracked in the same room as the amp, even if it's ever so slight, at 1%. If you can't get the right feedback as you would through a real tube amp, get a practice tube amp and have that pumping out the signal while tracking with headphones, just to use it for feedback. A lot of people do this already, when tracking with the main amp in 10 in an Isp room. Oh yeah, when you hear demos comparing the Kemper to real amps, usually the player is jn the same room, and the mic is spicking up the natural, acoustic string noise and sound of the guitar in the room. Even if it's 1%-5%, it adds some dimension tok the sound.
@XChristianNoirX5 жыл бұрын
With all that said we still need the real amps to even make profiles! I'm trying to work on one that hasn't been done before. However, I bought two vintage amps that are the same model, and having a hell of time getting them back to stock. It's a money pit.

Hey man great job on the sound and presentation! I have this amp too and absolutely love it. Channel 2 can get so wild as your video clearly shows! You are totally right about the EQ controls as well. Curious if you were running any pedals when playing through the “clean” channel or if your pickups were just hotter to cause more breakup? My clean channel starts to get crunchy when I’m up past 5 with the bridge pickup on my Les Paul. Either way great job!

just ordered this pedal to play some old school hardcore xxx kinda stuff for some recordings, but the only amp I have at the moment is a fender super reverb, with 4 x 10" speakers, hopefully I can get a relatively HUGE aggressive sound at least to fake it for the recordings then think about a bigger rig later on. Thoughts? Suggestions?
@ShredShed6 жыл бұрын
Super Reverb is a killer amp. Is it a brand new one or an older or vintage model? with a new one it's likely going to be a little brighter so I would dial the top end back just a bit so it's not harsh. Also, a 10" speaker is typically brighter and smaller sounding so I would try different mic placement options. I would try the outside of the speaker cone, or a few feet out in front of the amp capturing all of the speakers with one mic. You will get more "room" sound and reflection that way, but it should mitigate some of the ultra high end frequencies. Cheers!

My first thought was: "Huh, that doesn't sound like a model T", then I read the description and noticed that it's the "reissue". So I was right, would've been nice if you'd have put that in the title. The comparison doesn't make a lot of sense though, you might as well have compared the acapulco to a modded marshall, or the model T reissue to a protube twin. In case you didn't know, the reissue is a completely different amp, it's more of a modern/high gain sound. The orginal was much closer to a plexi with more power.
