Sunnen Precision Portable Crankshaft Grinder

Watch Don Scinto grind a crankshaft in a 1946 Dodge using a Sunnen Precision Portable Crankshaft Grinder. The machine was designed in 1918 and Don used it many times in the early 1960s when he first began his engine building career. He founded his automotive machine shop, Don Scinto Automotive, in 1973. His son Anthony has been working with him since 1987.

Safety glasses might have been wise Don brilliant old machine been grinding cranks sinc e 1974 never seen that before thanks for putting it on. I do have a piston koetherising machine made in Baltimore 1950s for expanding pistons properly we still do the odd set of pistons , I'd be surprised if there's another one still in operation in the world.

Thats a great video. I'm watching from germany and I have the exact same machine but from winona not from sunnen. It is much smaller and it doesnt have the ability to go left and right with a wheel. It would be great if someone can show me the machine to get the best results. I only restored it. Greetings

It puts a radius on it but no filet.
