This album is the best tribute to our great leader. We lost a rare gem in Murtala. Since his demise Nigeria never had any leader like him. May the good Lord hear our cries and give us a good leader who will get us out of this misery.

Oh those days! KSA long life! I know you will be 70 this year but I see you spending longer with good health, sound mind and fun. God bless you for the gifts you have bestowed on this world with your music and dexterity on the guitar and other musical instruments. Remain blessed!

OMG. I can't but dance as I listen to this wizardry on guitar as I lie on bed this night enjoying this. Lord have mercy as if I was too much a small boy when it was released in 1976. I remember disappearing to Eyemote club, Iyin Ekiti to listen to this record hiding at a corner because Eye Ajoji my mum must not catch me. KSA you are a blessing to humanity.

O ga ju! Sunny Ade tun gbe de o!! He sure was a wizard with the guitar. Still is. Bless. Song reminds me though of the untimely loss of General Ramat Muhammed. Heaven knows what would have become of Nigeria if he made it to 1979? For sure in a choice between Shagari and Awolowo, I doubt whether he would have settled for the choice that marked the beginning of the degeneration of our great country.... Wonder how I managed to bring politics into any of this! Bless you Sunny Ade!!! Apostle Tone

If there's an album with a clear winner between Sunny and Obey, this is it.. I wonder how long Sunny had to plan this album. It was dark, soothing, poignant, energetic, luxurious, deep.

I agreed with you that Sunny album to late Murtala was better than Commander Obey. However, it was not well planned they just rolled out album in honour of our beloved Murtala.

Nathaniel Adeoba Well that’s the mark of a genius right there to come out with such a dark tone to capture the mood of the nation so quickly... From the black and white album cover, to the low bass. I know a guy that playfully assigns colors to sounds. He called the sound of this album purple and dark grey.

@@cadey1a Ominu Nkomi and Sunny Tide are two of my go to pieces when I am feeling in the dumps. In no time my spirit soars and anything seems possible. i agree with you. Sunny is a genius. Ebenezer Obey too.

Noticed the pent-up energy in the guitar sequence starting from 2:55? Sunny Ade was brimming with energy from a year of live music in the United States, from 1974 to '75. The ban that led to that had just expired in 1975, and he had come out with an album. Then Gen. Murtala Muhammed was killed, and the Side A of this album, which is traditionally the fireworks page in Nigerian music, had to be solemn; so Sunny just let loose on the flip side! 3:43-6:09 is one of his best efforts on the guitar!
