Another one of King Sunny Ade's great songs. I remember this song back in 1977. We must show Nigerian's Culture, Pride, and Beauty! Great song. Even Steve Biko would have been very proud.

I remember this Album, the iconic symbol of the Festival. My late Father played newly released records in the evening when he returned from work and early morning before leaving home. Festac held during my first year in Secondary school. I feel so nostalgic of the memories and the tranquility we enjoyed at that time. Every public place and bridges lit up and fancifully decorated. I remember commuting from Lagos island to Mushin every night where we lived, it was such a beauty driving past the National Theatre and the National Stadium. There was a country indeed !!

I went to Nigeria during Festac 77 Festival, I lived in Ikoyi and attended my Primary school in Ikorodu rd St John by driving on 3rd mainland bridge looking at the National Theatre, fan ice cream, riding my chopper on tree-lined street in Ikoyi, Nigeria we hail thee

Colonial mentality and identity crisis. What's wrong with our indigenous heritage or religion. Who taught you something is 'idol' or traditional. If I were to follow your logic, then other religions are also traditional religion(idol) from where they originated from. It's actually appalling and painful the detriment of colonial slavery and its long transportation and beautification of mental slavery.

The only problem Nigeria has are white men stealing our wealth and greedy leaders allowing it to happen. We are the richest continent and instead of benefiting from our wealth we allow foreign invaders to loot our VAST riches on exchange for a handful of people having LITERAL PENNIES IN EXCHANGE. they make trillions of dollars from our oil gas coal palm oil diamonds gold cobalt lithium. Everything. And I'M EXCHANGE WE DON'T EVEN HAVE ELECTRICITY 5 DAYS OUT OF THE WEEK. WE DON'T HAVE RUNNING WATER AND WE HAVE MOST OF THE POPULATION LIVING IN ABJECT POVERTY.

Why do Nigeria have to turn to God and repent?? The problem is people like you that think God is the cause of all problems, God rest after 7 days. The rest is left for us to improve our lives and continue to function as a human being. You went to school to study engineering. You came out you cannot produce anything except that you have a degree to make you important like Engr, Dr,Arch. Only Nigerian wears a degree . My dear brother tell me which of this problem was created by God? The bible also indicated that you shall be the one to remove the bound from your own neck. The Lord has blessed us with a brain, We are just using it in a wrong way.
