Sunny Afternoon Walk in Quiet Mountain Village | Kawakami, Japan 4K

This afternoon we walk through the village of Kawakami in Kamikawa, a rural mountain area of Hyogo, Japan. It is a beautiful village, with ancient stone walled terraced rice fields. It is very early spring, so now the fields are dry, but water flows everywhere in canals, rivers, and streams around the village. There are many old traditional houses in the valley on one side of the river, in addition to a school and a small market. We visit also visit a temple, then climb steep stairs to visit a shrine overlooking the village and beautiful mountain landscape.
I will be returning to this village in a few months when the rice fields are flooded, so stay tuned for that. I really enjoy walking in remote areas, and especially areas with flowing water and peaceful sounds of nature. Hopefully this walk is interesting to those who wonder what rural Japanese villages are like, as well as to those who seek relaxing sounds for sleep or study.

Si, no hay mucha gente viviendo aqui pero es muy hermosa. Creo que desde 10 o 20 años el pueblo va hacer muy differente.

Very serene! I was impressed by the audio. Are you using an external microphone? Do you tweak the audio in post processing?

Thanks! I've been experimenting with different setups but on this walk I used a Zoom F3 and Clippy EM272 stereo mics mounted on my backpack. I'm not sure that's the best mount for quiet places like this village as the mics easily pick up even the slightest backpack creak or rustle, but the Clippy/Zoom F3 results are great overall. I'm just dipping my toe into the world of audio so the only post processing was a bit of a gain boost.
