🌈 Tag along with us, two Americans living and working in France, as we spend a sunny afternoon and evening in Paris’ famed neighborhood, le Marais. This Parisian neighborhood is a common favorite amongst locals and tourists alike, and we can see why! Le Marais offers tons of shopping, restaurants, cafés, cultural activities, and more. In this video, we take you along as we check out the Musée Carnavalet to learn about the history of Paris, do some window shopping and thrifting, eat a delicious dinner at a modern chinese restaurant called Horiz, and laugh out loud at Sarah Donnelly’s comedy show, “The Only American in Paris.” Have you ever spent time in le Marais? I was even on your website/blog today reading (and looking at your visit back to the US---that was probably right before the day-long-date depicted here). @@the_francofile No prob. You helped me a lot over the years (I kinda/sorta switch profiles) and got me to THINK about what/how to do what I'm doing. So a major setback happened a few months back, but I'm still moving forward (Rhone-Alps), and my 1100 days of duolingo isn't "real" language learning, BUT it's better than zero, and I supplement. When I did the math on Jalen and realized he did C2 in about 4 1/2 years, PRE-France, I was shocked--and shook!

Des endroits comme la Picardie, le Centre-Val-De-Loire, la Bourgogne, l'Auvergne, la Creuse, des villes comme Amiens, Orléans, Montargis, Nevers, Dijon, Clermont-Ferrand, Angers...

La réalité, c'est que même s'il y a tant d'endroits sympas à découvrir en France, nous ne sommes pas des KZbinurs du voyage. Nous sommes tout simplement des personnes ordinaires et nous filmons parfois nos weekends ! Nous venons de terminer deux années de master très intenses à Reims où nous avons eu très peu de temps et d'argent pour faire autre chose qu'étudier. C'est pour cette raison que la majorité de nos vlogs à l'époque se déroulaient à Reims. Aujourd'hui, nous venons de commencer à travailler à temps plein en région parisienne, c'est pourquoi la majorité de nos vlogs se déroulent également près de là où nous vivons. Pour nos vidéos, nous ne choisissons pas stratégiquement des endroits qui nous paraissent susceptibles de constituer des vidéos intéressantes. Nous filmons simplement les endroits où nous avons le temps, l'argent et l'envie d'aller le weekend. Nous ne pouvons pas nous permettre de prendre des vacances à chaque fois que nous réalisons un vlog. Il faudrait alors payer le transport et l'hébergement et nous nous épuiserions à essayer d'organiser des voyages dans des endroits non locaux sur une période d'un ou deux jours. Lorsque nous nous rendons dans des destinations qui sortent des sentiers battus, nous ne manquons pas d'en faire un contenu.
