oooooo I could tell many a WILD tale about Sunny Syston and many a story (both true and mythically exaggerated), about many a colourful Systonian Character. FUN (possible) FACT : A Showaddywaddy song is an interesting choice for a sound track. If memory serves me right, For a very brief period, 'Romeo Alexander Challenger' (the drummer of the Showaddywaddy group), stabled a horse called "The Duke" at a farm in Syston. Possibly Pontilue Farm (sadly I'm unsure if it was spelt like that). That, however, through the mists of time, has become merely a Hazy memory. Though there are many others that remain 'Cristal Clear' 😁

I chose the showaddywaddy song because one of the bands members, Dave Bartrham actually lived in Syston for a short time. Thats interesting, you seem very knowledgeable on the town

@@indi3344 That has thrown something of a spanner into the works ? 'The Duke' may have been Dave Bartrham's horse ? A minor detail I guess :) but that's going back an awful Long way. One of my X girlfriends would know because she used to ride that horse. I remember seeing it, it was MASSIVE lol . But I believe that may have been back in the late 70's or early 80's. But Showaddywaddy is Not the only Band that had connections with Syston. A guy who played guitar (Base I think), for a group called "DRY ICE" who did quite well on an Old TV Talent show called "Opportunity Knocks" was also from Syston. But Don't quote me on that, because I may be Completely Wrong. ... What I do know for sure, however, is he lived on the Fosse Way, He was a Guitarist and he was in a band that appeared on the TV. I went around his house a few times and seen him play. His sister used to fancy the heck out of me back in my youth LOL :) There is also a house on the corner of Barkby Lane / Melton Road that has (or had), a small Music Recording Studio beneath the house. I worked on the house when I was in the building trade, way back when the house was built in the 80's. So 'Yes', you could say 'I am quite knowledgeable about Syston and a Lot of the 'Famous' (or rather 'Infamous' :) names of the characters from there... Incidentally, I found the 'Dog Walking' section of this video Very interesting ? edit : BTW ; I subbed to your channel 👍
