If this was 16/17 kgs lighter(~200kgs), would have been so much better......but turns out that this one is actually heavier than my Interceptor BS6(1.0) at 216 kgs vs 212 kgs.

@sunnyhasplans.. I'm planning to upgrade to either Bear 650 or Himalayan 450 from my Thunderbird 350(I recently did UmlingLa on it☺), a bigger upgrade (700-800 CC ADV) is still few years away for many logical reasons!! I know Bear 650/Himalayan450 aren't comparable, but can few mods on Bear 650 like handlebar risers etc. make it a comfortable ride(as you mentioned about rear suspension as well) if purpose is daily commute and few long tours in a year(on and off road)? and how do you think it'll fare in resale value few years from now considering RE is launching 3-4 bikes every year now? Need your personal 7 honest opinion!!
@SunnyhasPlans
@SunnyhasPlans Ай бұрын
For long tours and off-roading, the Himalayan is more suited, but the Bear can be modded for comfort. Resale is always a gamble. Himalayan 450 is worth every penny.

@HarshitKadpate bro way2speed is a rubber compound to seal spokes sunny has video of that conversion please check his channel "Interceptor tubeless conversion" there are 100/90 19 and 140/70 17ceat 57h tyres available in tubeless format so if we just apply way to sped may be we can convert into tubeless may be sunny Bhai can give us insight on it
@HarshitKadpate
@HarshitKadpate Ай бұрын
@@Jack_Kulkarni Yes, but the amount of the compound comes with the Kit depends upon the sizes of tyer. The compound itself is not sold in kgs, or any metrics so to say, ..but according to bike models and brands. So, lets say if you have 150 sections of rear tyer size, ordering way2speed kit for a 200 section tyer will not make sense. It will be a waste of hard earned money imo. Just wait for the company to release their kits for newer models of royal Enfield..Or if you want that badly...Change the whole hub, sprocket, chain, rims and ultimately tyer sizes just to make it tubeless.

What do you mean by city rides? Like you need a bike for riding in a city where you can't go more than 50 kmph due to traffic? And also you need to stop frequently at red lights? If that is what you mean by a city ride then there are better alternatives than 650 cc. These feel perfect for highway Runs. It has very good torque but it is so heavy that at the ghat section where there are lot of turns at shorter distance even a 200cc bike can compete due to light weight. I own interceptor 650 and believe me I am looking for some 300cc bike for city commute
@apoorvsingh9316

@@amitamit6564 yeah, it’s Bengaluru traffic. I am also inclined towards Himalayan.
@amitamit6564
@amitamit6564 Ай бұрын
@@apoorvsingh9316 I don't know about your driving preferences but for me in city even Himalayan is also not practical due to it's dimensions and non availablity of Parking spots at most of the places. It is not that at my home parking is a problem but suppose I need to go to a nearby market with my friends for fun then parking is a problem. People park their cars or other big bikes without thinking how I will take my interceptor out of the spot. I think this will be issue with Himalayan too. Due to it's dimensions and attached accesories. I faced this problem at public parkings like hospital, office and local eateries. This is why I need something lighter and more manageable to squeeze out of tight places. I mean that is what city usage mean. You want to go to that chinese van near your house and you don't need to worry about some car or bullet 350 park behind it. Just lift bike's rear and manage extraction accordingly. At paid parkings this is not a problem. But this is not something that you can't manage. Here in North people don't give respect to two wheelers but maybe at your place this is manageable. So go for Himalayan if you like but there are other options to consider to like CB 300F, upcoming KTM 390 adv etc. But if are really planning Himalayan then definitely go for any 650. Both pose same challenge in city commute. 650 is more fun. in that case I will suggest go for shotgun 650.
@apoorvsingh9316
@apoorvsingh9316 Ай бұрын
@@amitamit6564 I totally understand your point and I have experienced a part of this when I was using my friend’s Himalayan for 2 weeks but I was able to cope up with all the problems because 1. I understood that some problems is going to be there and I have to deal with them. 2. I really loved the fact that I took that bike to near by hill station and it was so comfortable and I wasn’t that tired at all, for reference I have taken Hero’s xpulse and Enfield’s classic 350 to that hill station too but I was tired half way. So Himalayan became aspirational bike for me. It was okay in city too at least where I live, and it’s the best I have driven on highways and in twisty.
