I'm trying to start making videos...travel and food etc. how long should videos be? I'll probably just be using iphone camera and maybe my off brand gopro type camera(mostly iphone). Any advice? I'm having trouble knowing where to start. I don't have a lot of money and have regular job but want to create videos of places to eat and visit...should I start with my small town and county? How long should I record etc?

@@Surfin4christ I would say 5 to 10 minutes people have no attention span use Adobe suite and Vegas for editing if you want to edit or you can go raw like I'ma do write the points out you wanna make and read them off while doing your video or memorize them get to the point have fun by flamboyant put on a performance nothing worse than a boring looking sounding host be different with colors hand expresssions whatever it takes to stand out

To those negative "I came here to learn how" seem to be missing the point. To do a video, you have to know the starting point. This is it. Not how to point and shoot but what to do first. And that is a storyboard or script with these pointers. If you ask how to write a book, it isn't going to start with the software needed, it is going to talk character development and pacing. However I do not care for a big following because when it comes to profit there is a difference between fame and exposure. Exposure and a massive following doesn't always generates money. I care to create a specific audience. Good for her, however I care less who is popular, I just care people create real and good content where we all can learn. A constructive critic is very different from a destructive one. You need to understand that before accusing others!. There is not malice in being honest.

You can literally get started with your smartphone. Until you can buy a decent camera. They also have tripods for your smartphone. Make sure you have decent lighting. KineMaster is a great video editing app for your smartphone.
