Jacuzzi's on Cats are a royal pain especially atop the fly-bridge. You can't go motor-sailing until you drain out all the water. Otherwise the boat would be too top-heavy and prone to capsizing. Cats don't handle excess weight as well as monohulls. That's why you can find marble floors and stone counters on monos as opposed to the IKEA look in Cats.

Another interesting preview and this for charter? I would customize that spec PDQ. Think damp feet, light anchorage swell and a full complement of sunset guests. The wide open fore deck (cover the windlass & cleat), low coaming rails (raise the height), no coach side roof grab rails (essential), narrow side deck shiny floor hatches (wow!) pronounced right angle edges of floor cupboards by deck access doorways (round the sharp edge corners surely?) and a number of steep open steps (full width surely?). First impression there looked to be a variety of areas which invite a high number of unpleasant ankle encounters or worse. Even with zero stabilizers the fly Jacuzzi will, for sure, lose some water (needs a water loss gap) directly over sunbathers I see and access from fly down to deck while at sea looked interesting. I am definitely not a hater, it is a very well designed range. Ask, however, any owner how many times a day on board do they or guests venture up and or down steps and decks. It looks to be more design than practicality on this one.

Fully agree, I'd hope there is non skid on the steps leading up to the fly bridge, and one thing I hate, I've grown up racing sailboats since a babyz and have been on q multitude of boats from trapeze skiffs, to j/24, Melges 24 , Melges 32 noods, key west race week, Clearwater to Cuba twice, Clearwater to Isla mujeres multiple times, abacos race week, racred on Spars and Stripes, ex Americas cup catamaran sailboat when we set the record under 12 hours from Clearwater to key west, raced on Xcess, the trucker out race boat that was featured in saikweek magazine when we snapped the mast off the first day, and had to do an overnight repair on the carbon fiber mast, and we were using so much electricity to heat and dry and cure the mast we kept killing the power, so we had to use several vans heaters and tarps to keep the heat in to dry it in time, and then moved on to raiding cruising, and one huge necessity on cruising especially in foul weather is having, removable lexan plexiglass and even screens to keep the sun out of the fly bridge, but having the option to roll-up lexan plexiglass, for when it's raining is a must

This is not a boat. It is a floating house that may drift a bit if the wind is more than 6B. Better loose the mast and upgrade the engine :(

Beautiful boat. Only thing , the lines on mast are terrible and easy solution is to have a support bars around mast which will also serve as running rigging organizer . Will look and function better . Would one to watch a performance sailing video of this cat

Catamaran Channel For $30K, there had better be hookers, liquor, and Maine Lobster 24/7. Because for $40K a year, I can have it for 365 days.
@junuvojam84536 жыл бұрын
Yeah its an almost $2mn yacht, plus it likely comes with 2-4 crew members to serve you and the vessel, then there is the depreciation, maintenance and running costs, it all adds up to hundreds of thousands a year. You want to enjoy that for a week expect to pay for that, nothing is free.. You don't I am sure you can find a kayak for a few hundred dollars, but your not getting the same thing. Ones a banquet and the other is a single frozen pea...
@junuvojam84536 жыл бұрын
Obviously not, based on your own assertion you appear to be under the impression that this is a rip off, not even worth consideration, and that you could simply buy such a yacht for this money. Obviously there is a bit of difference between a ~2mn yacht and a 30k charter fee, even after 5 years the yacht would still be 1-1,2mn used. Undoubtedly you could buy something that floats for 30K, but its going to be both very old and much, much smaller. Then you have to pay running costs.. And that ignores that some people will split the charter fee with friends, split 4 ways that is probably close to only 10K ea all up per couple including airfares and apa expenses etc..etc...

You forgot the tip for the crew at the end (which isn't included) 😬 Edit; which if you tip the appropriate 10% is another 3k on the back end ✌

30k a week?...if I could afford that I'd rather take that money and diversify it into several different annuity accounts and then go out and buy my own and just let the annuity accounts pay for the monthly payments..and charter it out for $25,000 a week.
@CatamaranChannel6 жыл бұрын
Not everybody thinks that way. Thanks for watching!
@junuvojam84536 жыл бұрын
Yeah but the yacht is 1.5mn usd, the annual depreciation would be about 150K a year for the first 5 years, and crew costs 200k including benefits, then there is maintenance, taxes, brokerage/management fees. At the end of the 5 years the boat needs a survey/refit for safety/insurance purposes, and if you sell it you give 10% of the value of the boat to the broker. The deposit on such a boat might be as much as 375K and there is maintenance and financing costs on top, and finally there is no guarantee of profit. It really depends how much of the year you can book it out for and what your paying in brokerage/management and taxes that will either make or break you here.
@jasoncatt6 жыл бұрын
Well then Thomas, why don't you do that? If you could afford the $30k for a week you probably invested in that annuity 25 years ago....

@niclaslinden86086 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your answers guys. :) How much is "less", Catamaran Channel? Hehe! And also, doesn't the price differ very much depeding on how one wants to make their own version of it? Depending on what you want on the boat, and what materials you want, what kind of layout you want, etc, etc...? It would be nice to have a price-list that says, the price is between "______" and "______". :)
@CatamaranChannel6 жыл бұрын
Yes because its all custom, theres no fixed price. But im always talking about a well equipt version, with sunreef that is. Still its cheaper then you mentioned.
@niclaslinden86086 жыл бұрын
