Great question. In the majority of cases, the base price could never sail away from the dock. Its too stripped down. You have to add all sorts of options: cushions, anchor, blinds, electronics, watermaker , etc. The "sail away price" factors all that stuff in. Thanks for watching. D

I think both privilege and exquisite need to modernise their 50ft options. They both make gorgeous 60s.

My dream scenario would be an oyster catamaran that can go on the oyster world rally. I’m British, so a British led rally is appealing. Had my lagoon 450 from new for 8 years, but it’s a holiday home not a lifestyle. Personally I feel 60ft catamarans are too big for a couple. Appreciate these videos. The work on the comparisons is great.

Oh my friend. The Balance 580 and Privilege 580 are wildly different machines for completely different owners. Both are top of their game in their space but they are pretty tough to realistically compare apples to apples. D

The Series 6 was 64 feet so not a fair comparison in this group. It is also 3 generations old, so not a current comparative. There has since been the 640 and soon the 650. But again, these are outside the comparison size. D

Sir...watch Parlay revival...Lagoon brand has only been a cookie cutter company...great for charter but not good for open water sailing. ..please...quit using Lagoon.

Hey Bryan. The Parlay case is not typical and, due to their fame, has received greater than normal attention. Remember, they bought an old, used, hurricane write-off boat with an unknown history of use. Their story is a manufacturer’s nightmare. Lagoon has gone above and beyond to fix bulkhead issues, even well outside warranty, but you hear little of this. There are MANY Lagoons that are successfully circumnavigating and functioning as very good live-aboards, all around the globe. Beneteau is a storied builder with deep pockets and good engineering. But as the king of the hill, they are also the target for everyone else. Don’t buy into all the online rhetoric. Lagoons are excellent boats for the right owner. D
