Remarkable. Several times I got choked up and it brought tears to my eyes. I didn't know that we were still producing music this powerful and clearly spiritual in nature. ... simply beautiful.

35 minutes of my life that I'll never get back, but it doesn't matter, they can keep on taking more and even more 35 minutes away from my life for the times that I've listened to this. I'll never tire of this and one of the best Sunrise Mass renditions that I've ever listened to. Lovely tonal quality from the choir and the musicians are sublime, it really doesn't get any better than this.

Opera conductor here, just recently discovered Gleilo and listening to everything I can find on youtube for him. Some beautiful performances of this work....this 2014 Vilnius version is great for the full on effect of large chorus. I like the forward sweep of the conductor. The later 2018 performance by the same choir, different conductor (on youtube) is equally beautiful, just different, a bit more relaxed. For smaller scale the Chor Meise with the Ensemble Musica Anima from Japan is very beautiful. Now I wonder what an opera written by Gleilo would be like!

I'll never forget singing this with my choir, it's an incredible experience. My favourite moment is the 11:12-12:25, especially the chord at 11:56 - It's so incredibly powerful I just feel my heart split open, unfurling all emotions. And also I love the 26:28 part - this segment makes you feel so powerful when you sing it (or rather rap it, as we liked to say at rehearsals)

I first heard this piece in a live performance, and was blown away. I keep coming back here to re-hear it, especially now, when we've had a mass shooting in a neighboring town, leaving 18 dead and many more injured. This is so uplifting in so many ways. And I was appalled to find that I hadn't yet "subscribed" or even "liked" this .... which have been both fixed now. Thank you so much for such an inspired and incredible presentation. My heart goes out to all the orchestra and singers who have made this so memorable. Love to you all.

I'm doing this in my choir right now, and let me give you a little insight into how some of the pieces work. The first act, The Spheres, and the fourth, Identity, are actually split up into two choirs so that the audience never has to hear a single breath. Genius.

Are there actual WORDs in the first movement, before the Kyrie Eleison comes in? Or just beautiful sounds?
@tv0571 Жыл бұрын
@@heidikupke1034 Yes. Kyrie Eleison / Christe Eleison / etc... but all the sustained notes are on vowels which pretty much sound the same. I suspect that they are diminishing the consonants to aim for the effect you hear.

This is a beautiful and moving work sung by a world class choir of terrifically talented young people and it clearly shows that the best modern music doesn't have to be atonal or tuneless. Pity it isn't more widely performed around the globe especially in these deeply troubled times where the light of God and the voices of the angels at the Nativity needs to shine on more of our sullied and war-torn Earth.

Great performance, great voices and by the way interesting lighting and excellent videography. This is such a moving piece. The singers have to deal with some unusual intervals and long exhausting passages that need perfect intonation to develop the proper effect. Great experience for all who are able to participate in a performance. If you can travel 100km for this experience, I recomend the trip, you won´t regret it.
