@@valeriedavidson2785 Valerie, you are so right but when we came I needed an adventure before I drifted into late, mundane, middle age. We arrived in an hamlet of three paysan families and it was the most wonderful experience. Their own children were the first not to take to the soil so the three wives and the three old farmers taught us all the paysan arts and crafts and farming by hand. Birthing cows, everything that transcended the imagination. It was life in the English countryside at the turn of the 19th centuary. Now, I agree, it is vile and the young have been taught that it is Brits (generic for anyone who doesn't speak French) who have made property so expensive and beyond their children. There are at least two frauds who have been hanging around the royal family. Paul Burrell and "Lady C". Paul Burrell has made some statements which have been proved to be wrong. There are some simple questions which he can't answer. Lady C is a fraud whose husband divorced her within a year once he found out who/what she really was.

I offer my deepest sympathies to Queen Elizabeth and her extended family. Prince Philip represented all the fruits of the spirit and spoke truthfully and honorably on behalf of the Crown. As a native Québécoise I can vouch that the cabbage reference is a term of endearment "mon chou" for cherished French women. Phillip 's dedication to military and naval operations has a special significance to my family as my father served in the 22nd regiment which liberated Rome.I am overjoyed that the Queen has adopted 2 new dogs. She is on our hearts and minds.Prayers and blessings.

First of all, it’s been an honor & pleasure to visit Windsor Castle & St. George Cathedral in December 2019, 3 months before the Covid 19 lockdown. Second, it’s heartwarming that in Prince Phillip’s letter to Diana, he said that he & her mother Elizabeth don’t know why Charles left her for Camila, “for the life of me”. ❤️ Not only is Prince Phillip a lovely man outside, but also lovely inside, too. RIP Prince Phillip 😪🙏. My prayers go out to Queen Elizabeth, their kids, grandkids & great grandkids. 🙏

I find Paul’s comment of the Queen’s and Prince Philip comment on Charles and Diana to be so true. Charle’s was jealous and resented Diana. He was so shy and uncomfortable around people. He was afraid of making a mistake and being made fun of. Diana was so comfortable around people. It came so easy to her. The people were so dazzled with her, her fashion and her being a mother. She wanted her husband to be proud of her. When Charles first met her she was extremely shy. She wanted Charles to see how far she came and how hard she worked. She wanted to hear Charles say how proud he was of his amazing wife. Charles was resentful of her because it’s his birthright. To be among the people. To be adored by the people. They weren’t interested in Charles. Sadly he was boring. Diana was a breath of fresh air. This is where Camilla and Diana are different. Charles wanted a wife who did not outshine him. Who was not interested in fashion or being an icon. Camilla is perfectly fine by letting Charles be center stage. Diana became famous for her style because she thought it make Charles happy and proud to have such a beautiful wife. She was doing it for him. Most men would have been crazy to have a wife like Diana. Not Charles . This baffled the Queen and Prince Philip and his brothers and sister. Camilla was perfectly happy to remain in her own style, ten paces behind her husband and in the shadows. Camilla was a good listener. Diana not so much. She was very young. Had all these men and women tell her how gorgeous she was. She was that, with an amazingly huge heart and smile for others. That made her so endearing. Except from one person her husband. Charles and Diana wanted the same thing from each other. Just went about it in the wrong way. Ending up hurting each other. The Queen and Prince Philip could plainly see and say of Charles - what is wrong with our son? Is he blind? Diana and the Prince of Wales wanted the same thing - love and acceptance. Neither got it from the other.

I love how Prince Philip was able to make the Queen slowly smile and sometimes laugh at public engagements...a good example at around the 6:25 you can see she has no expression on her face and you can see Prince Philip speaking...then you can slowly see a smile growing on the Queen's face...there's countless examples of this throughout their very long lives together. They had the same type of relationship that my Grandparents had one based grounded in mutual respect love admiration and friendship with one another. They were truly each other's best friends. They actively chose to prioritize and decided to work on/at their relationship. That is a key factor in any relationship working for decades. The novelty of the 1st initial physical attraction eventually wears off. What you find attractive interesting and desirable about your partners personality can also wear off in time. It takes a willingness and effort to work at support and nurture your relationship. I personally find and believe that romantic relationships that are grounded and founded in friendship with mutual respect and dignity for one another are the relationships that stand the best possible chances of lasting for decades. You can't just take each other or your relationship for granted thinking that it and each other will always just be there...
