Thank you so much. My girl came home from dropping her son off at the bus stop so pissed off... cuz she hated wind coming from the sun roofs so she tried to close it but it got stuck opened. It took me 4 videos n me almost opening up the sun roof motor to close it manually. But I said there is no way they wld make it that difficult. I had a similar issue with my 2010 Discovery 4 yesterday. The roof was fully closed and would not open, so could be worse! I held the close button down for 20 secs and bingo. Problem solved today as it has stopped raining in the UK for 5 mins With a push button start just push once to light up the dash and crack on. Thanks for posting this top chap.

I second this, lot better than the other stupid method of 4 on offs tilt (it was stupid). Had to press tilted sunroof mechanically by hand when i was in the car lol Repair shop tried to "figure out" the issue by opening sunroof (when i told the issue was motor). 8 hours they had and they told me the same thingi already knew but they didn't close it back (assholes) Guess it is the dealership for me (more expensive but fuck it can't trust these "independent jerkoffs"(

Worked for 06 Range Rover Sport. My plastic accordian thing came off the track, sunroof wouldn't close. Tried your process, did not work. Went to other videos that had me dissassembling the dome to manually turn the motor, nothing. Tried your process for the 4th time, BOOM, I'm a happy man.

In my 1999 Toyota Land Cruiser I just hold them for 20 seconds and immediately closed and curiosity got the best of me so I tried to open it again and it fully opened fully closed. This worked me, thank you! 17 Civic Ex-T. I tried the reset procedure of the press start button letting go of the sunroof button, repeat. Didnt do anything but keep my sunroof open. This worked, turned on my car, ac off. It stuttered half way close, and after pressing open button it fully started to close. I think I have a small electrical problem goin on in sunroof

I might need my ford escape 2011 repaired. Like a dumb ass I accidentally hit vent in winter time when it was frozen. It’s not closing and seating all the way now. Where you can hear lots more wind draft. motor works fine and goes through progression of vent and close properly. But when I hit close. It won’t seal. I have to manually push upwards on glass and then it seals into place with less draft. Wondering if it’s something broke in there. Any ideas?
