Hey Jeff thanks for the videos. I have a few questions hopefully you can answer. I have been considering Sunscape Dominicus since this spring for a April 25 family trip. I have watched many videos and read many reviews. I understand this was a renovated resort rebranded and some additional construction was done. In most of the videos I watch things look nice and new but it appears may area (the Pizza Bar outside) look like they haven't been opened or used yet. When you were there were all the amenities available and open like the restaurants? Maybe people just shoot their videos early in the am but some of those amenities look empty as in never opened yet. For the a la carte restaurants did you think no reservations caused longer wait times to be seated? Finally regarding Sun Club upgrades I have heard since the resort does not require bracelets there was little ability for staff to differentiate between those who are Sun Club and those who did not book and pay for it, did you get any sense that was the case? I appreciate you taking the time to watch, comment and for your patience with my response. I've been tied up in other things recently and having been as attentive to the channel as I normal would be. I can't speak to other people's videos but I can tell you that I usually film mine early in the morning when no one is up or moving around the resort. I like to respect people's privacy as much as possible. All of the venues were open and fully operational while I was at Sunscape Dominicus. All the restaurants, eateries, bars and lounges. That said, this resort, like others can have rotating closures that are subject to occupancy and staffing levels. You may have nights where one restaurant is closed but it's open the next night while another is closed. Rotating closures is quite common. I've long considered what is the best way to get guest into a la carte restaurants - reservations versus no reservations. After visiting 12 resorts in succession that don't require reservations and operate on a first come served basis I have concluded that the no reservation model is the lesser of two evils. Neither is perfect and both have their challenges but the no reservation system worked best for my family situation. We are a family of three and usually aim to eat dinner around 6/6:30pm which is usually when most dining venues open and we never had an issue getting a table or never had to wait. That said, if you try to eat at the most popular times which is between 7 and 8pm and you have a larger group that insists on eating together you may encounter longer waiting times. Unfortunately, the honour system is used to differentiate Sun Club versus non-Sun Club guests as it pertains to pools and beach areas. At dining venues and in the club lounge there should be people checking guests. That said, enforcement is always hit or miss. Hope this helps.

You book a standard room or a room within Sun Club. The cost of Sun Club is built into the cost of your room if you purchase that category of room. Hi again @loseto61 and thank you for watching my video tour of Sunscape Dominicus. I've traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean, staying at and touring, many all-inclusive resorts. I understand that they are not all a created equally and follow a general rule that you get what you pay for in life. For this vacation I was looking for something a little more budget friendly and I wanted to see an area of Dominican Republic I hadn't seen before, so I picked Sunscape Dominicus. I wasn't expecting Sandals or Secrets quality but I did expect to enjoy my vacation, which I did. I'm bummed that you didn't enjoy your vacation but totally appreciate that people can experience the same things differently. I hope you'll consider send the resort your feedback.

Hey @loseto61 thanks for stopping by the channel and for watching my video tour of Sunscape Dominicus. I'm sorry to hear that your vacation fell short of your expectations. I know people spend good money to vacation at these resorts and you should expect to have a great time. The beach, the waves, the ocean currents are all out of the resorts control. I've been to some resorts multiple times and had very difference experiences with their beach due to the unpredictability of mother nature. The resort should have sent you a survey after your vacation and I'm optimistic you would have shared your feedback with them so they know where they fell short and how they can improved. Alternatively, if they didn't send you a survey you may want to consider sending them an email. The only way anyone can improve is by receiving feedback. It may not always be easy to hear but we should all be striving to improve and feedback is needed.
