Couldn’t agree more…having seen the original 4 times with 4 different Normas (Close, Buckley, Mason & Paige) I was unprepared for how much this production broke my brain. Not sure what I could say about Nicole that hasn’t been said already…but it’s an other-worldly performance, fully committed & absolutely mesmerizing.

I loved this production! It’s truly groundbreaking. Have never seen it staged before, but did watch the movie before I went to the show. I think that is probably a good idea so you have an idea of the plot points given the abstract production. Jamie Lloyd could win a Tony. Nicole is amazing. Entire cast is amazing. If it’s between Nicole and Audra for the Tony, I would give it to Nicole hands down. Gypsy revival that I saw in previews is traditional. Nicole has a more compelling role. Sunset should win Best Revival too. Gypsy didn’t wow me. Re: seats. Have seen it twice now. Once in right mid orchestra and once in left rear mezzanine. Preferred mezzanine. Better view and impact of screens. I may go again and would look for near front mezzanine.

I would suggest people watch the movie first, not listen to the soundtrack. your comments about Nicole are exactly how I felt. I could not take my eyes off of her and it has changed my life

Saw it in London. Nicole is not old enough.
