This is, as I have discussed in my own comment that doesn't take the form of a reply, more than likely how every episode will start out; inside of one of Meggy's dreams, trying to fend off against Shadow Meggy. I think that, as the Phoenix Festival nears closer, Shadow Meggy will become stronger, eventually fully manifesting in the real world, outside of Meggy's imagination, and ended when Meggy does something about the festival.

I still miss Inkling Meggy though, SMG4's Inkling Meggy is what actually got me into Splatoon in the first place, so seeing them ditch the Splatoon theme was kinda sad, but I get why, so they could do stuff like this, especially in light of what has recently happened with SuperMarioLogan.
