I fished this system the other day (I can tell what creek it is 😉) was chasing jack..do you get many in there? It looks good with all the structure and what not.

Don’t know about the canals but many moons ago I took a young bloke with me off the stones in NSW. He landed a 55 bream an a week later I got myself a flat 50. They do exist but I think there more along the beaches an stones but colder waters then Gold Coast.
