Man does this bring back memories. I did this in high school waaaay back in the 1970s. It was the required piece to know to audidtion for Chorale. We left out the tenor solo part however.

This sounds amazingly like the version we sang at Dixie College in 1984. Program Bureau and Mrs D had been performing this for years. One of my favorite versions of one of my favorite hymns.

the soloist was some sort of a downer to the group, the choir looked amazing and performed very well though

Why do pianos accompanying a choir make it sound like a saloon and not praises to God? I believe instruments are a clever way the devil to drown out our praises. We are ALL commanded to sing. Most "churches" are now just a rock show, people go to hear the "best band" and have lost the meaning of worshipping in songs hymns and spiritual praises from our hearts with our lips. Its vibration. All the heavens sing his praises. They all vibrate, a sound. Every living thing. We vibrate, a sound, from our hearts souls and minds to God and to lift one another up in song. Our voice is with us everywhere we go, everyone has one, he gave it to us, he wants to hear it loud and clear and from the heart. Its all He asks for, not all the foolishness we now see. "Worship guitar" "worship piano" "worship drums" there are no such things in Christs church
