I mean it makes sense, that „roman“ shield infantry makes short work of a phalanx (historians will support me there) while any other unit will suffer heavily facing these many pointy sticks head-on

I think most t4 sword + shield units should be effective agaisnt them.

@@rikrishshrestha5421 what is wrong with you? First i dont want my expensive t5 anti infantry unit getting countered by some t4 men at arms or worse… and second, why should t4 counter t5 when its not like a natural counter (cav vs archers etc.)???

@@niko7626 Pikes are counters to cavs and sword+shield is counter to Pike units . whats wrong with this ? there should be some injuries on sword team too though. that'll do it

@@rikrishshrestha5421 i would love to see you walking there with a shield and sword (not talking about tower shields) and charge a phalanx. Would pay really good money for that. Cb is a game of rock paper scissors. And a phalanx is hard to maneuver and its weakness is mobility and missiles/ranged. Melee units should NOT be able to simply head-on a t5 pike unit in brace. Also a t4 should never kill a t5 unit when its not a natural counter or the player does some major mistakes

@@niko7626 A myrm is tower shield type isn't it ? i might be mistaken here coz it has big shield. But anyways, there is already PTR video where if you charge PG directly from front, its suffers more but if you charge from side , it gets easier to kill phalanx. T4 shoudn't kill T5 pike units ? LMAO , this game has MAA, Wuwei who has been wacking Madao since long ago. Devs don't give sh*t about that. A natural counter for Cav is Pikes, right ? Have you seen Xuanji directly charging at fortes (with longest pikes in game) ? Fortes suffer kill xuanji but Fortes suffer heavy losses and if hero is between fortes, hero dies. lol RIP balance.

Its good to see T5 unit being countered by T4 units . Usually they would be broken sh*t , specially cavs

myrmilliones can defeat most pikes. They could charge in and knock down target down twice. Pikes excel in semi-range meelee distance but are usually extremely poor at close quarter combat
