@@penanggirl14 so true. She may earn the last respect the Princess gave her. Which, if Princess Jingse gave more thought of not being a snobbish princess of high standards, she would have mended with Ruyi a year prior of knowing that she was dying of TB. And that’s the one thing I do love about Ruyi. She considered a gentle person, even though Yangxi Palace portrayed her differently within that show. This show, showed a more clearer and closest of her being a thoughtful human person. Which is why, if I had one huge wish, it would be talking to all the historical people throughout the ages and get what is on their mind in a private way. And believe me, it would be a lot of details I would be hearing from all of them. And have someone to help write it down too.

It's an intentional 'straight face'... Stuff like that is meant to be a serious matter and 'showing emotion' is considered improper decorum. ((Refer to everyone during Ruyi's granting of treasures. Li Yu breaks it but Ruyi only smiles until afterward))

@@aliciagorgont2677 Actually, Empress' brother was fairly neutral toward Ruyi. he knew his sister didn't like her but a lot of the Harem vs Political stuff was specifically and intentionally kept seperate. He didn't do much in the way of anything with her.

She never could get over that issue even after she became Empress. She deserved every single thing she received in the end for intentionally depriving Gao gei fei and Xian fei (Ruyi) from getting pregnant, killing Yonghuang's mother, allowing him to be abused by the momos and destroying Lianxin's body and life by marrying her off to a crazy eunich so she could spy on the Emperor. She was a wicked woman! If anything, she allowed Gao, Jia, Sulian and her mother to put bad thoughts in her head and that's what eventually lead to her untimely yet timely demise.

That’s the standard color for her, and it’s unique for those in China. Well, more than a standard, color. The costume department probably went with bright yellow tone for her, is to not mistaken on what it represents for her character. Which is that she is shown to be love and the brightest of all. And A lot people already know, when you seen the three marriages scenes, that color is completely accurate to now, todays China. Not because of their flag (not to sound dumb or anything) but it’s to show prosperity and good fortune. Close to how white is to shown as virgin for today marriage.

It's not quite the color but the design. Her dress might be 'bright yellow' but it doesn't have a lot of decoration on it. Only servants wore more of the darker colors, those of higher status wore bright colors with brilliantly decorated patterns (pause the video when the Affairs Head shows them, most if not all are decorated with a ton of patterns on them.) and the more patterns the 'higher the rank' so to speak with peonies, phoenix's and the color red specific to the Empress herself.
