I never used Supabase extensively but in my limited exposure to it, I've always thought of it as a developer platform, making it easier for developer to deploy and manage apps. It's interesting how they're leaning heavily into the database aspect of it which is not what I would've personally pushed. But anyway. huge congrats to the team behind supabase!

Only thing missing for me to get fully into it is the GDPR / ISO 27001 / SOC2 security features accessible at a smaller price than the Team plan, something in between the Team and Pro plans like Xano could offer at $85/m. Guys without that I can’t use Supabase at all in my projects where I need these even though I’m convinced this is the best tech we have for no code devs.

Supabase's PostgreSQL is annoyingly slow. I tried hosting literally the same data on both Supabase and Neon and deployed the instances in the same region (Singapore). Yet the queries returned 2x faster on Neon than on Supabase! I was using connection pooling and Prisma ORM for both the platforms. Why this disparity?
