Answer of a day: I don’t know... The story is a blend of Mad Max and Bruce Lee movies. 80s kitsch but somehow works. The character is mostly expressionless when not fighting... And yet I can buy the in-universe explanation that he’s all about discipline and using his power only when absolutely necessary. If you can accept the cheese factor, it’s a very good series. As for the figure, it’s one of those that are simply not made for museum poses. The photo gallery at the end looks close to the anime and hides the horrible shoulders. The range is there, but you want it in a anime pose.

I'm still hopelessly waiting for the storm collectibles FOTNS line to this day.. QOTD: It's a classic like Berserk.Would recommend it to anyone who likes martial arts,tons of gore,muscles and manly crying lol.(the manga) So yeah it's an over the top and incredible "bad " good anime.(again,read the manga)

Right? FOTNS is the reason for anime today, so many anime projects have either taken inspiration from it or redone iconic things from it in their anime. It’s an iconic trend setting piece and very important to the pop culture of anime. Without the fist a lot of anime would not be how they are today. It’s still watchable till this day and it’s awesome.

I think this is an improvement over some of their latest efforts; the paintjob is very good (particularly the skin tone & shading) and the hips are pretty seamless/useful. Accesories and size are also on point. However, even with all those positives, I'm not really enthusiastic about it. I think the faces are too "bishonen" & expresionless for Kenshiro. He's a very stoic character but I don't think they captured it. He seems bored instead. It's still the best Kenshiro in the market but I hope Storm improves upon it.

Man the difference good shading makes! So many of the SAS figures actually technically look awkward or are inaccurately proportioned or something but the shading just makes them generally still look *chef's kiss* I wish other companies would do similar at times.

I'm so so so very glad you reviewed this because while i really wanted to jump on this when it dropped being a massive fist of the north star fan i know you're known for being brutally honest which is one of your best things having watching you for years now. And to answer your earlier question i would say it's the best bad, i think it's fitting for when it came out and between the over the top theatrics, the melodrama of it's kung fu dystopia and that of it's fantastic art(Authors gotta be Japans answer to Frank Frazetta) i would say it's amazing. Anthony i doubt you read manga but even if you don't if you can ever find the time i would absolutely recommend making an exception and reading Fist of the north stars prequel series "Fist of the blue sky". It's practically the original taking place in Hong Kong during the reign of Imperialist Japan but the writing is much much better. Real good time involving the other major powers of the world from that time. As always great content so cheers.

Fist of the North Star is a classic. It has it's cheese, being a hyper-testosterone driven martial arts anime from the 80s, but it also has a ton of super iconic characters and moments, so for the question, I'd say it's a good "bad" anime. Really hope we get a Rei soon, but I'm still unsure if I can even get this at the price.

Fist of the North Star is my favourite anime and I kind of see it like how I view old kung fu movies...it's so bad that it's good. These look very similar to the old Revoltech figures. Bigger scale obviously and maybe some updated articulation, but very similar

You gotta love Hokuto no ken, "Ken le survivant" here in France. It aired at 5pm on the biggest national television, so I discovered it when I was about 7yo, and I was in complete awe. Obviously it was heavily censored, and the dialogues altered to be more comedic, but still, it created a HUGE national scandal back in the late 80s early 90s. Still, if you discovered Kenshiro's adventures as a child, it was damn awesome, like an adult version of Dragon Ball (which aired simultaneously back then).

I loved Fist Of The North Star as a teenager, it’s an interesting concept, super powered Mad Max Bruce Lee in an Post Apocalyptic Super Powered world. So it’s probably a good but dated anime.

I was afraid it had those kinds of shoulders. Not a deal breaker, but a shame. I kind of wish it had a head featuring his bearded look as well. As to the anime, I’ve only seen the movie and New Fist of the North Star. New Fist, imo, is better, but the original is definitely a bad good anime. Also saw the 90s live-action version. So bad...so...so...bad. Yet good in a weird way.
