everything works but my wooden whistle won't open the door, is there some timing to it

I had to do several retries most of the time. It looks to me as if the first key I play is not recognized or maybe the first 2. Then the game thinks it is another melody because if you repeat it does not recognize your first key as "first key". Try pessing the first key of the melody twice when you play.
