Meerkats, like banded mongoose, are highly social animals, and their survival depends on being social. For this meerkat's mongoose brothers and sisters, she might speak with a meerkat accent, but she thinks she is a mongoose and they consider her as being part of the family.

These animals are actually related to one another, as they are all members of The Viveridae Family, which includes Meerkats, Mongooses, Binturongs, Fosas, Civets, and Genets

This year, the mew/common gull got split into the common gull and short-billed gull, and it was changed immediately on pretty much every major resource. As soon as the AOS declared it, pretty much every major resource updated its information. That’s what the internet is for, making information easily accessible so you don’t have to read and research a ton of books from different years that might have conflicting information. So yeah I don’t care if you claim to have been studying these creatures for years, so have a lot of people from some of the most prominent scientific authorities that have done DNA comparisons on these creatures. If you got a problem with how they classify things, bring it up with them.
