This is amazing. I am 3500 + hours in and never knew this. Thank you SOOO much. All we now need is the ability to add more "personal" colors, the ability to group and to rename them. The 16 we get are not enough and I seldom want to re-color my who factory.

@hassurunous61677 ай бұрын
I could be wrong, but in test 7, I think you could get more hues if you type in the color code manually. Those 6 hues you were seeing correspond to the colors where one or more of the RGB hex values are maxed out. In other words, you'll see "FF" pair in the color code at least 1 time for each of those. I think the slider and preview window might have just been lying to you or lagging.

This comment is partially to help me remember to look at this and partially so someone else might be intrigued enough to look into this. I think so! That's why I made the video. Thanks for taking the time to comment, I appreciate it!

It’s definitely a bug though. If I had to guess, for the duller colors they apply a multiplier value to the S/L values (btw this color representation is referred to as HSL, you were so close!) they never expected people to put in values above 1 though. Hypothetically, let’s say the duller foundation color has as multiplier of 0.5. So if S is 1, then the duller color is 1 * 0.5. But if you put in 2, then the duller color would end up being 2 * 0.5. The same thing probably applies to all the colors for whatever model, explaining why sometimes white isn’t white unless you start bumping up the values.
@eqprog6 ай бұрын
But I agree they should keep it as it’s neat.

4:55 You can only see the difference when you have a brightview monitor or a plasma TV. All other monitors fail to show the actual color difference. I have a HP 2159m monitor and when I simulate your video here, I can clearly see the difference up until 9. 10 and above are not visible for me, might be my eyes. But.. on a 2008 42 inch Plasma TV, I can see the difference between 9 and 10. For my gaming and DAW stuff (yes, I am a music producer), I use two identical 29 inch UltraWide monitors and there I can only see a difference up until 6.

Thanks so much for the info! I'm curious so I'll try and dig up a plasma tv to watch it on. You're the second audio engineer I've met in the last week. I was picking the other guy's brain about other DAWs and tools to use. In fact, this video was the first time I edited my audio and video in Da Vinci resolve, then exported my audio to Reaper DAW to use their noise reduction tool. The tool completely eliminates all my background noise, but I noticed it did give me a tinny sound on my voice in some parts. I decided to publish anyway, but I'm still trying to balance the tools I use to get the best audio/vocal I can for my videos.
